I always print a PDF copy for our records before I *click* submit. Came in handy when my friend asked me just last week something about the online application we did back then with older ds.
did you click the wrong button while doing online application ? -

Anybody care to share DSA for NJC ?
Last time when my ds applied - just need to do the online application. Everyone goes for the 3+hour test. You only need to pay the S$50 for the test when you go on that very morning (hehe - which means if you change your mind and don't go on test day, then don't need to pay? ).
Only after they shortlist you from the test, do they ask you to bring the copies of the supporting documents. Before that, they don't ask for it. -

:goodpost:My DD applied to 3 schools for DSA as these are the 3 schools that she is interested in at this point in time. Even if eventually can only accept 1 school, I dont think it is a waste of time as the child learn and gain experience (how to respond during interview, how an interview is conducted and what is it like etc etc).
Also, by going through the process and in observing and interacting with the teachers and students from the respective secondary schools (during interview, when moving around the school and observing how these students behave), the child gains a deeper impression of the schools (as compared to just going to the Open House) and this might play a factor in the child's decision on which sec sch to go to should he/she gets more than one confirmed offer. -

:goodpost: Agreed absolutely! What the kid should be applying is schools he/she is interested in going to, not those he/she is not interested. If he/she is interested in more than 1 school, it is ok to apply for more than 1 school. My DD applied to 3 schools for DSA as these are the 3 schools that she is interested in at this point in time. Every experience in life is never a waste of time, as experiences shape one's character and outlook. Yes, it will take time away from preparing for PSLE, but preparing for PSLE is a 6-year affair, not a last minute thing. How much will that half / a day really cost you - 1 mark? 2 marks? You can't even quantify that. But that experience will stay with the kid for a long time. -
Just wondering, is this the first time RGS/RI running their own GAT? How will the test be different from the GAT that most other schools commonly use? Those who DSA both RI/RGS and HCI/NYGH, do the kids need to take 2 separate GATs instead of just 1 then the schools share the result?
Just curious:P *Best of luck for the coming GATs -

NJ asks for 300 word to talk about yourself, upon submitting. This constitute the first 'test' before sitting for subsequent test.Mum1113:

To keep the kids in the SBGE programme, there are only 7 schools to choose from, 3 boys, 2 girls and 2 co-ed. DHS is on the wrong side of the island for me, and NUSHS is too new for me but DS is also interested, so we apply as well. So we apply 3!
My DS applied for NUSH and RI. He is not keen on HCI but keen on NJC so we applied for that as well.
It's not on the MOE GEP list but with cheap fees it doe not matter
