Myanmar maids

Lynn2010:
Oh, well she knows what expired is... think ur maid has also expired and she cant be bothered with anything at all, lazy, tired and also stoopid, incorrigible and no hope. I had one similar to yrs and the whole house ws turned upside down.
Yah Moonee, i didnt think about all these stuff. I learn my lesson. No more tai chi master at home. This new one is Supergirl, quite fast. I cant stand those who did things slowly. She cut one onion, i cut 3. My mum is as fast as me.moonee:
Lyn2012... Hee hee, I have experienced all ages and I really feel that the older filipinas brain n body tend to slow down, deteriorate faster than us as they age. I guess they were not nourished well when young and also yr maid spent more than 35 yrs in phillipines so its hard to change her mindset. Oh yah, I think menopause or going to so probably the body homones went haywire and affected the brain.
Actually, I dont think she knows what expire is even whn u told her the milk expired or she knows but her stubborn brain think its ok and a waste to throw. Its hard to understand what goes on in that pea brain. Ai yah, too long in their hometown so its hard to take the country out of the girl. lol...
Anyway, good to know u have a new helper and do hope ur new maid will work out fine.
DHA milk should be included in all milk powder in Phil.
About expired milk, see below conversation....
Me: Do you know the milk has expired
Maid: Yes, yes, expired 3 days
Me: Do you know this is the 2nd time you did this?
Maid: <quiet>
Me: Will you drink this milk?
Maid: No
Me: Why?
Maid: Because expired
Me: Then why did you pour for my girl?
Maid: I didnt, she pour herself
Me: Why didnt you stop her or tell her?
Maid: <quiet>
Mine was sent home, I really hope ur agent does not transfer her but I guess they will give her another chance and try to recover the loan. Pity the next employer! -
According to my contract, i’ve to return to agent, give her 2 wks notice. This 2 wks notice start from the day I verbally informed her that i dont want her. I gave her to agent a wk later, she stayed with agent now and has up to 2 Aug. Agent asked if i can extend, i say no.
So, i may have to spend money to repatriate her. I’ll do that when the time comes. In her MOM record, she would have this strange 7-8 wks employment. -
Lynn2010:
Sounds like one of my ex-maids. She would take one plate from the kitchen to the table. Then take another plate. Then take a fork. Then take a spoon. Each time she would sashay across the living room with one item. I told her to take a tray, put everything on the tray and make ONE trip.moonee:
Lyn2010....... yr maid may hv a mental block,
or she must be very old or left spore yrs back and return again...err, perhaps she does not like looking after kids.
wow.... moonie, can i bring you along when i need to interview maids? You so experience....
47 yrs old, not too old leh (of course not young), she left Sin 2009 and return recently loh. No ned to take care of kids as my DD2 is already 13 yr old.
I only ned the maid to clean house and cook lunch & dinner. I hope i dont need one in 2 yrs' time. Just got a new one, 26 yrs old, 3.3yr exp, 2 employers. If this one is good, she can stay with me as long as poss, if not, if i can tah han, let her go after 2 yrs.
Mental block? Well you tell me..... she set the table for 2 persons in Dining table #1. Ask her to bring out and set them in Dining table #2. It will probably take me one trip, but it took her 6 trips!! Trip 1, take out 1 plate fr Table 1 to Table 2. Trip 2, take out 1 plate fr T1 to T2, Trip 3, take out 1 spoon fr T1 to T2, etc. :yikes: Do you call this mental blk?
Nevermind, it's history
And like your maid, this same maid of mine would claim she swept a certain area of the floor when I was watching her the whole time and she didn't. Then she would vehemently insist she did, despite knowing I was sitting there the whole time watching her. Makes you think if you're hallucinating. -
Lynn2010:
I check my fridge regularly and get really angry if I find expired food in my fridge, esp milk. I make sure the maids throw out expired food so there's no chance of them feeding the family.
Told my friends, if i continue to keep her, the whole of Singapore will read about my family in the papers \"Family of 4 admitted to hospital due to milk poisoning\" :faint: -

Why should you pay to repatriate her?According to my contract, i've to return to agent, give her 2 wks notice. This 2 wks notice start from the day I verbally informed her that i dont want her. You give the agent the required amount of time as per your contract with them, to find the maid an alternative employe. If they fail to do so,I think it's the agent's responsibility to repatriate her -
POA Teacher:
I thot our MOM rule stated that it is the employer responsibility to repatriate her? Not meh?

I thot our MOM rule stated that it is the employer responsibility to repatriate her? Not meh?[/quote]But if your contract with agent says otherwise, it should be agent's responsiblity already. If you suka-suka send her home yourself (without giving agent a chance to get new boss for her), you pay.

Hi Lynn2010
It really depends on what your contract terms are.
Usually, (so far the contracts I’ve signed) if loan not paid up, you return maid to agency and to get replacement maid. There is usually a cap of levy, (food+ lodging, some agt don’t charge) eg 21 days. From day back to agency start counting 21 days max levy to pay. You should not pay air ticket at all because you return the maid to agency, it’s their problem to market and place her, she’s off your hands already.
If you insist to send her back kampong, being kind is to give 2 weeks notice to maid for her to inform family, make transport plans etc. (One of my indon maid, she travel almost 18 hours, various transport from airport to her village.) Employer will lose the maid loan, you don’t return maid to agency, they won’t do replacement. Usually agency insist you send maid back to them so they can place her with some other family, they make more money this way. You start all over again. -
