just reading your post really made me faint.Yes Janet....that's how bad it could be, we are now half minded to keep her till CNY is over or send her back tonight, sack the agency & demand a full refund by hook or by crook! :stompfeet:
Too ridiculous to chut patterns merely after that few hours & can talked back bcos she wants out. Its juz simple chores she did so far & chop chop over & done with completion of chores, hv not even tried caring for my kids! :slapshead: Situations of such is so unfair for employers, oreadi transferred in our name & in MOM records its 1 change of maid regardless of how long she is wif us or its her own prob for wanting out!
what is her reason for coming to singapore ???
housework includes cooking...even if she has to care for the kids, it's her responsibility like FTWM. There was once I called MOM in my master bedroom toilet to ask if the officer can expedite the approval of the new maid as the current one was causing me to jump off the cliff. -

My case was bad enuff seriously, everyone I spoke to was totally surprised & shocked. What bothered mi most was I dun need a time bomb in the house esp wif 2 young kids & a recovering mum. :frustrated: not to mention having to lug a black face ard for CNY, spoil everyone's mood :gloomy:
Well, at least she lasted a few hours before she asked for a transfer.POA Teacher:

I heard of a case: the employer fetched her from the agency. The moment the car approached the house, the maid asked for a transfer!!!
In that case probably she chicken out by the sight of the house - how much chores in her care?!
[/quote]OMG! Thought the Burmese maids were less choosy .... It seems that this maid is a very fussy transfer maid. Since the maid is under your name, it means that you will continue to pay the levy though she is not working for you but she is at the agency taking her time interviewing and choosing the next employer. You need to consider this aspect....
When my previous Filipina maid of almost 4 years asked for a transfer (that time my younger child was just a toddler and she didn't like accompanying us out during weekends ) , I allowed it on condition that she find an employer within 2 or 3 weeks, otherwise I would proceed to cancel her air ticket and send her home. Told the agent this too. It worked and she was transferred out legally within a short time. Funny thing though... A few months later, I heard that the agent was looking for another employer for her. Her new employer liked to entertain and my ex-maid was complaining that she had to cook and clean till past midnight frequently. She used to sleep at 9.30pm every night at my place and finish her household chores by 4pm so that she could have her tea and read the newspapers! The grass is indeed not always greener on the other side. -
My bro’s maid also choosy with food. If there is food she likes, she will eat. If not, she doesn’t eat. For eg if there is chicken soup or tasty soup, she will help herself. Not to mention fried food.
There was once we came back from supermarket and couldn’t open the gate as hands were full. SIL in confinement opened gate for us…the maid was snoring away. Bro is pissed with maid as she refuses to cook or else spoil the food. -

I suppose Burmese maids can be just as fussy as Filipina maids. Reading the above posts really changed my opinion about them.My bro's maid also choosy with food. If there is food she likes, she will eat. If not, she doesn't eat. For eg if there is chicken soup or tasty soup, she will help herself. Not to mention fried food.

My current Filipna maid also very choosy about food... Same same.... If food is not to her liking, she rather eat plain rice. Even questioned me on our brown rice which we mix with white rice, and only eats it after I mentioned that the brown organic rice is more healthy AND expensive. Won't eat the vegetables if she doesn't like the sauce I use....more fussy than my children. Food that she won't eat, will spoil and get thrown away. In the end, I buy her canned food. Not healthy but better than plain rice and instant noodles.
Oh yes! I just realized something good about Burmese maids... Since their English is usually not so good, I suppose they don't talk back or complain as much as Filipina or Indonesian maids? -
The good thing about Burmese maid is if they speak little English, they will not get brainwashed unlike Indonesians/Filipino ones. But this very language problem means we can't get through to them. They do not understand what you are telling them. Really bang wall. :frustrated:
These maids are all the same...if food is nice, never enough. If not nice, they will quietly throw away. Even brand of instant noodles also can choose. -
My Myanmar maid really cannot make it these days. CNY first day broke the zip while zipping up my 3yo’s chongsum (so got to find another dress to wear out for visiting), and CNY second day burnt a hole in my 3yo’s dress she was ironing. I didn’t blow my top since it is CNY (phew phew phew phew).
I wonder what is going on… she has been with me for close to 9 months - not the most dainty finger helper but 2 dresses in 2 days is definitely not normal. She was a transfer maid and worked for her previous employer for 9 months too, before she transferred out. Anyone had similar experience? -
I once had a 7 years experienced maid in Spore who came to work for me but she burnt a hole while ironing my blouse in less than 3 months and tore my blouse while hanging my clothes in the next month. So yours is 9mths experience right? Things like that will happen regardless of experience. I don’t really bother about clothes burnt, Hp usage, off day as long as she gives me what I want I will close my eyes. Of course if she doesn’t meet her KPI and still slack and make the same mistake repeatly then need to reconsider.

All my maids had at some point in time damaged clothes but only one offered to compensate as it was new. I rejected but exaggerated the costs and told her that I understand she was here to work for the sake of her family and would not want her to be working for free for the month since I can see she was serious about her work, …
She was grateful and was careful thereafter.
Rest of the maids hid the damage and always get bad scolding after I discover. -
A maid who is resistant to learn cooking…fussy with food.
Last night, mum told me the maid is refusing to eat bcos food is not to her liking. Looks like this Myanmar maid cannot last 6 months.
Brother is so mad bcos maid broke another Corelle bowl.
I kept all my Corelle utensils when I had maids…used Ikea ones.
Now that I have no maid, I use my Corelle and also bought matching cutlery. -
Hi,
Anyone has agent to recommend? My burmese wanna go bk & nw no mood to work…hope to find a new maid fast…
