Myanmar maids

Oh no, shes my 2nd burmese, a transfer maid of 3 half months. Its about 8 months now. Any improvement with yrs?Hi moonee,
is she your 1st burmese maid? I remember we got our burmese maids around the same time. -
hi peapot, Yes i agree with u, I think Indons are the most flexible amongst the other two nationalities. Much better in cooking and cleaning.
Filipinas have more common sense and are much cleaner, better for keeping house. -
I have a maid from myammar for almost 2 years. I have been thru filipino, indonesian and then this myammar maid. The good thing about the myammar maid is that she is obedient and honest. But i think myammar maids don’t have the initiative like the filipinos nor do they have the cooking skills like the indonesians. when the myammar maid first came, she can’t cook, sweep, mop at all. Totally no idea how to use a needle and thread as well. Must really be told and taught how to do things step by step. Can really be exasperating… not recommended to look after babies or young children.

Hi Merkon,
Agree with you, I used to have have Myanmar maids as well. She also came without any knowledge of housework at all!! This, I really don’t understand because in Singapore I know at least how to sweep the floor and mop the floor. I also know how to cook rice. So, I really wonder why in general Myanmar maids don’t know anything. -

How is Burmese Maid? Understand that they are really very raw type which must take a lot of patience to teach them!
I guess I am through with emloying Burmese maids. I have gone through 4 so far within 3 years and none to my satisfaction. You certainly needs lots of patience with them. They tend to act 'blur' and pretend not to understand English when you reprimand them for not doing their work properly after countless attempts explaining to them how to go about do those chores but they tend to speak perfect English when they have requests to make. Unless you are a stay-at-home mum, I strongly suggest you employ an Indonesian one as Burmese maids have hygiene problems. Guess their country is rather backward where sanitary matters are concerned. -
Yes, I remember mine also very dirty. Her handbag was so dirty that she can’t be bother even to wash it and this is her own personal thing.
Also, Burmese maid has off days. When mine first came, she was still trainable eventhough dirty. However, she started to change gradually after she went for her monthly off.
She started with rebonding and she had long hair to her waist. I ask her to cut but she refuse. So no choice I had to let her be. I don’t have support at home so I was really at her mercy!! Fancy that! Then nearer to her contract ending, I had hell from her. She threaten me. She wanted to get another job in Singapore, I think waitress or something then she wants me to give her time off for interview, blah blah blah. It was quite sickening!! In the end, I had to rope in my mom to help!! Luckily my mom was very cool and calm. She’s not at all afraid of the maid!! Then after that, when I got rid of her the next burmese maid also cannot make it!! Sigh!! -
Agree fully with all of you. My current burmese does not bathe for days and even if she does it will be like in and out of the bathroom within 2 mins. I know every room she enters when Im out as she leaves her “aroma” behind when she leaves the room. If asked to bathe, she will give excuses like she bathe yesterday or shes cold. Shes still in my house, no thanks to my agent for making me wait 5 months for 3 replacements that never came. :x
Like I mentioned in my earlier post, there seem to be a lot of burmese coming in. Gone are the days when they were branded as honest and hardworking. Agents cant screen the maids as burma does not encourage their girls to work as domestic helpers… so we have to rely on biodatas that are not too accurate. -

She bathed already yesterday!? Oh my! Doesn't she bathe everyday? Can ask her to bathe twice a day?Agree fully with all of you. I employed a myanmese maid and kept her for only3 weeks. this one’s a city girl and u u grad too. She’s full of herself, and she expects to be on equal footing with the employers. I heard from agents that the problem with myanmese girls these days are that they expect to be on equal footing with the employer and some of them are rich girls just out to see the world. But then again, there’re always some very good ones, I wanted to try employing one cuz my friends have got very good myanmese maids. I guess it was just my luck that I got this one. In terms of cleaning, she’s quite clean, but she answers u back and raises her voice at u. And she acts like she’s the mistress of the house. Terrible!!! worst of all, she wanted to be a mother to my 2 boys and demands to have me spell out their names on a piece of paper for her even though I told her that her job is not to take care of the kids. The first day here, I gave her shampoo and body wash, she demanded for facial wash. Btw, she uses loreal facial wash, toner and night cream…

The last Burmese maid I had is dishonest. She stole things which you would not even notice, like hair clips, old handphones and even clothes. She used my shampoo and facial cream, as she claimed that she was bored and free. Just before I sent her to the airport, I checked her luggage and found a few pieces of clothings which belonged to my daughters, my lipstick, watch (which I left lying around as it has run out of batt). Irony is : I bought presents for her to bring home to her folks and this is what she had done to me. By the way, Burmese maids also have habit of not completing their contract : always claimed that mother has pssed away and need to return home.Agree fully with all of you.
