son is struggling with geography as it is. what is impt is he must do well and choose subjects of his interest at the end of sec 2.

He can try History or Literature, if he is struggling with Geography. Both my kids hate Geography so they dropped this subject during streaming time.

very likely he will take history. he likes factual stuff. literature is so-so.

The subject combinations are determined by the school and this is generally based on the school’s experience in terms of the ability of the students as well as the resources of the school.

In my DD’s school, they will have 1 triple (pure) Science, double Maths class, 1 double (pure) Science, double Maths (likely to be Chemistry and Biology cos most of the students in the school find more difficulty in Physics) class and 2 combined Science classes - 1 with double Maths and 1 single Maths class.

            geography requires calculation (I think).

he likes history…maybe it’s like a storybook to him.

Both my kids also prefer history to geography. But I know most students much prefer geography. I feel my kids are different from others.

              😂

my son did better for history than English this year...history is actually different now compared to all the memorizing during our time.

Some jobs need you to study a specific subject in secondary school ( eg. To be a doctor you should study bio in sec 3,4 so that it will be easier for you to cope in tertiary education)

I wonder what jobs your dc likes . Dd has nothing on her mind . She said anything :faint:
At first she thought air stewardess . Then after the mh370 incident she doesn't want to be one anymore . I am thinking if she does not want to do any job more bio inclined maybe double science for sec 2 streaming would be better . Less stress.

in pri and sec nowadays... the students are asked to use the career something software... to assess what their interest and their strength is and what type of jobs suits them... from there they choose the streaming selection... :please:
                    hope this helps.

I don't remember DS did it in primary school. What is the name of the software?
