      Ok Thank you so much
      :thankyou:

One more question though, is it better to take bio or lit as my eighth subject? Why?
Sorry, I do not quite understand you. Your combi put up is a 2 Science 2 Human combi. If you drop the Lit in the combi and replace with a Bio, you are changing this to a 3 Science 1 Human combi. Is that what you want - to do more Science? Your O Level L1R5 will require one of your R5 to be Human, so if you are left with 1 Human, you must be very sure you can score very well in that Human subject.

If you do not take pure chem, physics or bio for O Levels, you cannot take those subjects for A levels. That is to say, combined science does not allow you to take Science subjects at A levels.

However, generally combined science is easier in content depth compared with pure sciences, so it is easier to score high grades. This works well with students who intend to go Poly as it will help them to get higher scores to choose popular courses in Poly. Poly courses normally do not require to have pure sciences.

            Hi neocat,

You might want to do a trial period of 6 months for the pure sciences before you decide if you want to drop to combined science, of course you will have to prove your worth first to keep your place in pure sciences.

thanks for your reply 😄 but is it possible to have a trial period of six months?

                Hi neocat,

My school offers this \"trial period\", you may want to check with your science teacher or form teacher in your school as well if they do offer this. But whatever you do, consult your parents first so they can help you to make a better choice. 🙂

Good luck in getting the subject combination you want 🙏

                  Hi.

Just wanna ask… I am in a fix as to whether I should take Triple Pure Science or just stick to a Double Pure Science. I will be Sec 3 next year (2014) and would like to know the benefits of taking Triple Pure (including Pure Biology).

Is Pure Biology really that important? Please let me know ASAP.

                    Hi tgwsmxx,

Of course, Triple Science will do you a certain level of good, considering there will be more course choices for you in the future - but it all boils down to whether or not you are able to balance out your time and stress.

I would suggest you take Double Science if you can't really balance out your time properly. But if you want to, you can try Triple Science and see how it goes before dropping to Double Science if you find out you really can't cope.

BTW Chemistry is the most important of them all (Sciences). You can't really pick anything without Chemistry.

No doubt doing triple Science will widen up the selection of subjects at A level, but I heard one can only do 2 Science subjects at A level.

Thus, I am unsure if it is that necessary to do 3 Science subjects, knowing that 1 out of the 3 will be dropped two years later.

                        Hi everyone!

I am in a dilemma because I can’t decide on the subject combination I want.
And before I received my results, I thought this subjection combination would be okay, aka triple science, ss + elective history, full geography, and with compulsory English, A+E Math, Higher Chinese.

After receiving my results and asking around, I’m really not sure whether I should take triple science or not since I heard that it is very difficult to cope as my choices are all so content heavy.

Another thing is that I am really a "sciency" and "mathy" person, but I don’t really do well in my physics (sadly). If I were to not take triple science, is it better to do physics or biology since chemistry is compulsory? Because I heard that physics is better for my future because there’s a lot of jobs I can do with physics, but I do well in biology?

For humanities, should I take literature? I hate and suck at my languages though, but I am thinking should I take literature since all my subjects are content heavy?

Do you guys think my subject combination choice is crazy?
I want to take triple science because it offers my more choices in jc but I’m afraid it’s too crazy and too stressful.
Is triple science with full geography really crazy?
help help i am going crazy omg.
