Wonder will this re- introduction of F Maths having the same syllabus as during our era ??

Juz like H2 Maths is not exactly the same as our olden days Maths as H2 Maths incorporated a portion of F Maths ...

Even before FMaths was scrapped, the difficulty had apparently reduced. My husband took it in the early 80s, and he had contact with some top students in the 90s, and they reported that the papers of the early 80s were more difficult.

My ah boy's school letter states in Dec, together with class allocation. Hopefully we can get the notification earlier.

Pupils were not allowed to appeal for their preferred subject combinations in VS last year.
How about other secondary/IP schools?

Son received his sec 3 combi late oct…wanted to appeal since his science results for sec 2 were not bad…But he changed his mind…only wanted pure bio. Pure sciences (3), 2 Math and social studies would be too heavy.

Due to limited resources, schools will list down the critieria to qualify for each combi. However, allocation will be based on merit (of overall grade or individual subject) if demand is overwhelming. Hence pupils will try to appeal.
Some schools provide appeal forms. Like 'musical chairs game', vacancies may be created along the line.
The pupil who can give the most convincing reason, such as having aspiration to be a journalist and a flair in writing but overall S2 results did not meet the criteria for mass media, may be given the mass media combi after school leaders review and verify her inclination.

I was wondering if dd meets the criteria of her first choice, will she be offered that combi. Fingers crossed that she will. Results will only be out next week.
