I see that the intake alone for NUS CS is > 700, minus all other related courses such as IS, data Analytic etc, it seems a lot, whilst LSE only recruit about 30 - 50 data science undergrads, imperial maybe less than 200.
DH’s workplace good data scientists are from Stanford and MIT. NUS MSc in Business Analytics also good!!

Hi, to avoid the jam that stretch, what i did was to turn left to Khem Hock road (before the PIE exit) when coming from Lornie / Adam road, and drive all the way then turn right to bukit timah road at the traffic light.
If you reach bukit timah road before 7am, it shouldn't be a problem.pampers\" post_id=\"2006378\" time=\"1606869639\" user_id=\"26519:
Hello, anyone can shed a light on the morning traffic during schooldays? I have searched for info but came up with only 2011/2016.
How bad is the traffic before/after covid in the morning along the high school side?
Any info is much appreciated as I have to travel from North side
Thank you
Take into consideration there are schools like mgs, raffles primary, njc, nanyang girls using both bukit timah road and Dunearn road at about the same time.
If you come from North, I assume is via pie taking either Adam road or eng neo.
Adam road turning into bukit timah road can get pretty jammed up along the short stretch of road just before coronation plaza (nanyang primary is there), after that jam also due to petrol station/tan kah kee met station. So best to filter to middle lane then move back to left lane after tan kah kee station in order to enter hci via gate 3 or 4 (you can find the site map online to see where gates 3 & 4 are located).
If going by eng neo, turn into sixth avenue follow by a left turn into one of the namly avenues (pls Google it on map cos too many namly road names so I can't remember) & will lead you to gate 4. -
RE: Subject Combination in JC
Interestingly, I have spoken to a few youngsters who are going to Uni, 3/3 said that they preferred to graduate later than earlier as they want to enjoy more time in schools when I asked them why didn’t they want to choose NTU as they can graduate earlier. I think during our time, we prefer to work and earn money earlier. I have to add that these 3 are girls with no NS commitment

1. Computer sciences is becoming very popular nowadays, read in reddit that some who scored 87.5 rp didn't get in NUS computer science this year. For the popular courses, the required rp has became higher this year as it was suspected that many who initially planned to go overseas has decided to stay put locally due to covid situation.
So I was googling around the IGP for local university admission and came across some facts and would like to seek parents advice:
1. How did computing in NUS become a AAA requirement? Is it really that popular? I recalled during my time, nobody wanted to go computer science. And how different is it from computer engineering or computer science which requires much lower IGP
2. I was from NTU Acc where during my time, it was AAA. Was appalled to see it become ABC with SMU being ABB and NUS being AAB. What has changed over the years? If someone is not a naturally vocal person, would the NTU style of teaching be better as I understand active class participation makes up huge portion in SMU and NUS.
2. Yes this has changed over the years. Somehow, NTU business school is becoming less attractive than NUS, I was from NTU tooA friend's daughter (international student) chose NUS business over UCL with IB of 43 points. I think NUS is becoming really popular even among the overseas students.

We are ok with 3H2 (daughter’s choice) because that’s the min requirement for Uni application. Just focus and do well for 3 H2. We also recognize DD1 is not those super duper brilliant type, likely may need a lot of time and effort to do 4H2. A-levels nowadays not easy leh.
Why doesn't she wanna do 4H2 right from the start? Heard can drop to H1 if cannot cope at J2. I also heard the contents wise is about the same. During my time, I don't recall Econs being hard but maybe times he changed.Imp75\" post_id=\"1991842\" time=\"1597812007\" user_id=\"2358:

My DD1 said she intends to do Econs at H1 level. :rahrah:
Haha, true, over the years, syllabus has changed. Once my DH commented A-level subjects all easy lah, friend shot back at him, “Hello, you took A-level 30yrs ago, now a lot of things has changed!” Lol[/quote]Yes syllabus has changed a lot from our time. Feel that econs papers are more demanding now than before. F maths syllabus has also changed a lot. -

My ds is strong in Maths and he did find physics quite easy. I guess if he were to take bio, he will probably spend a lot of time studying bio
Is it true that those who are stronger in maths will do better in H2 Physics as H2 Physics has a big chunk of calculations involved? Hence makes more sense for them to choose PCME rather than BCME? I keep hearing this ‘saying’. Anyone can share some insights? Thanks! -

If she doesn't has preference, you may also wish to look at the A rate for HCI. I understand that Chem's A rate is ~ 70%, not sure about Geography.
Hi
Had a query. My daughter who's clues about what she's gonna do but knew she wouldn't do humanities, pursue med, dentistry or law, has decided to take PCME. I told her to take PMEG instead as folks have said H2 Chem is tough. Would like to hear advice and opinion thanks. We reckon she's probably gonna end up like her parents who pursue finance.
I know both are not easy -

Hello, I am so sorry to miss this earlier, I just saw the message
Thanks Song22! So everyone needs to audition for the cca together with the JAE students after the JAE students come in? So in the first month there is no cca?
Usually the IP students could join some open trainings at the end of the year to indicate their interest and I guess the intake still based on cca requirements / individual's talent, some may get selected even before the jae students join if they are very good. And those in the same CCA and don't want to change their CCA like track and field will probably just continue with their training
Your girl is now in Year 4? -

Hello! as above:
For HCI year 5 and 6, I would like to find out more about the CCAs.
- is cca compulsory? - yes I think so
- if you are from nygh, will you be automatically accepted into the same cca? - no
- since there are 1200 students in each level, how big is one cca on average? - it depends and there are many ccas to choose from, but basically, no more unform groups
- will you be assigned to something you do not want (if cca is compulsory) -I think chances are low since you will be going to make a few choices?
- if you are a student councillor in nygh, will you be given a chance to run for SC in HCI? - you will still need to apply for it
- Is SC considered a CCA? yes
