Some ivy league universities (e.g. Harvard, Cambridge, Imperial) focus more on SAT scores. I have a buddy who did not do well for his A Levels but managed to get into Imperial College's Medicine course based on his SAT score.

Are you referring to Imperial College in London?

Yes. Realized it's not an ivy league university but still a top university though![/quote]Yes, which is why I wondered why you mentioned it. Imperial College looks at BMAT scores and not SAT (which is more relevant for US unis), and offers are made conditional on scoring AAA at H2 level for medicine (for Singapore A levels).

Actually, of the 3 you mentioned, only Harvard is Ivy league. I think the UK universities are still more in tune with A levels than SAT although they will consider SAT for applicants without other sorts of results.

It won't affect her JC entry as she can use other subjects in her L1R5. It will affect her subject combination choices as she won't be able to take H2 Physics and, looking ahead, she won't be able to apply for university courses that have a Physics prerequisite (some Physics and Engineering courses mainly). But if she isn't interested in Physics, that's not really an issue.

Generally girls much prefer Biology vs Physics. For A levels, you can take BCME - Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Economics - its a vey popular combi.

It's ok to take 7 subjects but most of them take 8.

Which are the subjects is she looking at apart from Bio and Chem?
