Reading Assistant Software

I'm glad you posted this. I've heard of this program while I was browsing at one of the exhibitions. I think it was Smart Kids Asia/Singapore, but was skeptical. I mean how can a computer really help the child read right?
I've always tried to encourage my children to read books from the library, but it's only recently that I realised that my daughter has been borrowing books but leaving it in her bag without flipping the pages!!!
So, now I'm looking for something that can track my kids reading. And making sure that they at least cover some books over time instead of being on the ipad all day!!
My younger is a boy and though he's in N2 this year, I think I should start him on something and cultivate his reading before he loses it (he does seem keen with books - but not able to read fluently yet)
So, if anyone has got some feedback, would appreciate if you could post it here. :thankyou: in advance
I'll browse around and post anything if I find anything interesting. -
Hi All
Am new to this forum. This holiday session has given me sometime to browse through all the interesting discussions. I chance upon your discussion on Reading Assistant. My boy has been using it for over 2 years now and I find that it helped him tremendously especially in his reading fluency and pronunciation. Most importantly, it has helped cultivate his love for reading.
As I work part time, I am also able to check in on his reading progress when I am home. The feedback from his English Teacher is encouraging. So I do encourage you to explore this programme.
For me, the convenience and the accessibility are a great plus! The reading coach concept is great, cos I always worry that my DH would teach him the wrong pronunciation!
Hope this helps! -
