      Hi

My son is in P6 & will be sitting for his PSLE . He is a very loving & nice innocent little boy. However, he is very disorganised & will just take a long time to complete his school homework. There is therefore, very little time left for me to really sit down with him to revise thr' the day's lessons & start preparing for his coming exams.

This can be very frustrating as we always have to 'rush' him in the evenings to finish up his school assigments. Hubby & I are worried for him but he is taking things in his own 'good slow stride'.

Anyone here has the same problem with your child & has managed to work out an effective approach to handle the situation?

Thank you. Hope to hear some sharing from parents out here.

Lesser topics does not mean that the Science paper is going to be easier. The topics were removed, but teachers need to go in depth and the students need to know how they are applied in their daily lives. Itโ€™s actually tougher now. I still remember a qn from the 2008 science paper about โ€˜roasting the chestnutโ€™. Only a handful of pupils were able to get the 2 full marks. Expect to see more of that kind of qns.

Good time management is critical for success in doing the PSLE exams well. Do review with your son if he manages to complete his routine exams on time and check if he left out pages not completed in the marked scripts.

Good students have to balance with being neat, doing correctly and complete all questions in the exam. Any questions left blank in the exam equals 0 marks for those questions, whether the student cannot do them or has no time to attempt them.

My son is also sitting for PSLE this year. I am so stressed out. Itโ€™s nice to be here with parents on the same boat to share experience and to vent our frustrations.

            Jia You everyone.

My son had his Science CA1 yesterday. Never heard him saying this before about Science exams, but he complained it was tough, was asked to draw graphs, never done before, bla bla bla... His Science results have been very consistent all this while. So I told him that he's taking things for granted and since this batch will sit for their PSLE with the new syllabus, he better pray hard.. ๐Ÿ™

My DD has her English CA1 yesterday and said that it was difficult too. Not sure if the school set the paper harder on purpose :?
