hi! am a newie KS mom with 1 DS 😄

Not too sure if this is the right place to post this but here it goes... just wondering if anyone is fetching their kids from NYPS to Sengkang area is interested to carpool. Please pm me if anyone is interested.
My students are from NYPS. Their parents send them to school every morning, then after school they go to the student care within the school premises and thier parents pick them up after work.

My boy will be going there in 2014. Most likely me & hubby will take turns to fetch him.

              My hubby is old boy.

Schools in Punggol - not to our liking.
Schools in SK - difficult to get in. Those that are easy to get in are too far (need to change bus/MRT/LRT).

              Our current plan is:
We will ferry him to and fro for P1 & P2. If he likes it at NYPS, then we will continue sending him to & fro till P6. If he doesn't like it (too stressful or the distance makes him too tired), then we will change him to a neighbourhood school in Punggol and I will spend extra time coaching him on my own at home.

I think the new MRT line will be ready by the time my boy goes to P1.
So at upper primary if he decides to carry on at NYPS, he can take train home after CCA if we are unable to fetch him.

icic. we decided not to go to tao nan (my hubby is alumni) but go to nan chiau which is within 1km from our home cos we do not want the trouble to ferry DD so far.. and will be tiring for my DD too..so if u weigh the pros and cons and decided the further one is better option.. then go for it. 6 years.. then see how..

Micollh, from what I understand, even staying within 1km for NCPS is not a guaranteed in for Phase 2B/2C?

I have tuition students who are staying in Punggol and attend Tao Nan. They are already in P4 and P6. I think the distance is still alright for them because their grandfather sends/fetches them.

no guarantee. we jst try lor, tao nan too far. but we haven decided yet. still have 2 more years. my girl only 3 plus now, will be 4 year end.

bringing her to school is ok, but fetching back and if got school activity very troublesome.

                      Another option to consider:
Put in student care inside the school (if have) or near the school. Then fetch home after work.
This is the arrangement of my NYPS students cos the parents hv to work and they don't hv anyone who can help to ferry them. They go to the student care which is in the school's premises.

i know. so, still thinking, but hubby prefer nearer. after school she can go to her grandparents home. no need go to student care. shall see how it goes. i will still apply for NC PV, prepare first.
