Hi daddy2007daddy2007:
Any other positive or negative on NAFA? Need to decide either go NAFA or those commerical art school like KidsZone or Kids Art!
You may want to take a look at CAVA - Creative Atelier of the Visual Arts. I like the school's Visual Arts Educational Philosophy and low teacher:student ratio
Can share your experience that you had with CAVA?
Sorry. Didn't realised there is this posting
Some of the areas I personally like:
- Low teacher:student ratio. Maximum 6 and thus I like it as the teacher can spend more time on each student
- The setup & environment there
- The teaching approach is different from other art schools that I have enquired. I can't really explain much. I tried google on the Internet and they have this URL (http://www.cava.com.sg). You can try browse it for more details
My girl likes to go there and always looking forward to the next lesson. That's all that matter to me -
Hi all,
I’ve just enrolled my DS for the kinder art class at NAFA. Just wondering - cos in the confirmation letter, it is stated as NAK KINDERART - K1 for the level. I’ve emailed NAFA to enquire if K1 stands for Kindergarten 1 level (logically speaking) and my DS is born in 2005 and will be in K2 next year. Their reply is that this is a combination class.
Can I know if there’s anyone out there whose kids are in 2005 but will be going for K1 level also?
Thx in advance! -

Will your DS be attending classes at East Coast? According to the staff during registration earlier this month, they mentioned it's a combined class for K1 and K2 students at East Coast. -
I hv just received the letters to purchase the art materials for the new term. Would like to ask if it's necessary to buy all the things stated on the list.
One of the optional items on the list is Portfolio (A2 x 10 pockets). May I know what this is? -

This is a A2 size clear folder for the child to keep their artworks

Hi bbc,
thx for yr reply. Yes my DS will be attending at East Coast. how abt your DS/ DD? mine was on waiting list cos we reached there at 230pm and they left only Fri timings. So few days back they told me there’s a vacancy on Sun aft at East Coast. Upon paying the fees, then I realised abt the K1 thingy stated on the letter. So its a combination class… then should be ok becos my DS is born in early Jan and he’s already comparatively more matured than his peers in his K2 level and I was quite apprehensive thinking if we were like abit “cheated” to take up the K1 slot just becos we were on waiting list.
thanks for your info! -
My DD went for NAFA arts for 1 year. She enjoyed the class very much. In the class, teacher teach students different drawing style and let them use different method to express 1 topic, give kids a lot of imagine space. My DD said to me, she can give us all other enrichment course except Nafa Arts…so no choice…will be continous always…

I bought all things at Nafa for the first time...as I'm not too sure about those arts tools...it estimated about $100...can not remember so clearly. All those tools bought in Nafa are in good quality. You can buy from outside if you know what those things are.me also enrol my gal to this NAFA, sat late pm class... but me yet rec'd the material list....

In fact, Nafa is not so strict about those materials...during the class, teacher will share some common tools if you forget to bring them. -
How was the quene up registration at NAFA? We decided to give it a miss as seem there is no make up if class fall on a Public Holiday.
Had decided to try other Art school then!
