U.K. is now cheaper than Aussie

Do u mind sharing in what ways cheaper? In terms of course fees? Fees + cost of living? And \"cheaper\" also takes into account after currency exchange to S$? Tks

Course fees and living exp in pounds and oz$ and convert to sgd plus two home trips a year, multiply by number of years

Fees are diff for med, lab-based degree and non-lab based

Pounds is now 1.97 and oz$ is now on par with sgd.

Some time back it was 2.1 and 1.3 respectively[/quote] :thankyou: 😂

SMU Open House on 5 n 6 March...( hmm...any date relation to release of results?)

Received the whole lot of SMU courses brochures in my mail box today...
They highlighted their newly designed Major, PLE ( Politics, Law and Economics) and Entrepreneurship Major ...

Application closes on 1 April 2016...

PLE is interesting... Is it a 3 or 4 year course?

I wonder if results will be out on 4th or 7th?

Yup...SMU PLE sounds interesting...it caught my eyes when i browsed thru their brochures...
Last yr Open house, gal did not recieve any info regarding PLE...

It is a 4 yr course...anyway, fr what i gather most of their students spend 4 yrs in SMU as they will be doing second Major or double degrees...

More info abt PLE fr SMU website...
        .
        .
The first of its kind in Singapore, the new Politics, Law and Economics major will be offered by the SMU School of Social Sciences starting from 2016. This innovative major aims to prepare future leaders and thinkers with a deep understanding of global political and economic transformations and the legal frameworks and contexts within which such changes take place. Students will hone strategic and analytical thinking skills and seek innovative solutions to real world problems.

Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the major, graduates would be well-equipped with the knowledge and skills to handle multifaceted jobs in their chosen fields of public service, non-government organisations or industry. Possible jobs include careers in journalism, diplomatic service, foreign affairs, public service, consulting and research, amongst others.

The Bachelor of Social Science’s Politics, Law and Economics major consists of 36 course units, a 12-week internship programme, an 80-hour community service commitment, and a series of 7 Finishing Touch workshops. All areas of the requirements are pursued simultaneously throughout the four years.

If you have SAT score , SMU considers above 1900 as good score . You may want send it to SMU directly from College Board website. It provides this service with minimum charge.

Thank you Simkhoo, Jtoh . NUS FASS is option

NUS FASS has Comms and New Media which your dd can also consider.

A \"more\" recognised alternative to NUS Comms school is the NTU Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information. These wd play up on your girl's strengths in EL.

I thought that week was marked stay back week for the passing out practice. Maybe out for one day to collect results, then go back on the same day?

I was asking elder boy to mentally be prepared his results are not what he had expected. He said : mum, you said the same thing during my PSLE time.
