tj drop a lot alot, acjc catch up well , ejc - may be will catch up after it move back to its new site...???!!!???
Considering that Nanyang JC is not even an IP-JC, in terms of JAE JC1 college Cut-off-point admission, Nanyang JC is on par with Victoria JC, ahead of (IP-JCs / IP-High schools), likeUBKmom:
Yes, NYJC is really impressive if you look back at them a few years ago, from mid-tier jc to the top 3 based on cop, just behind HCI/RI. On the contrary, NJC/TJC is deteriorating, falling behind.
National JC, Temasek JC, Eunoia JC, Dunman High, River Valley High
NYJC has good location - accessible by circle , NE line-connect . Sch building is pretty new too . The previous leaders should had worked hard and market well to bring it up to today standard ... -

What is the enrollment/intake size for all these JCs? Except for Dunman and River Valley,, and perhaps Eunoia, do all the other JCs, take in the same number of JAE students?
Obviously... no.
Sometimes, people place too much ‘value’ on COP
, understood.
Anybody knows the enrolment/intake size, or where to get them (except calling up the JCs individually)? -

Good job, to all NYJC staff and students!isetan:
NYJC cut off- 6- Science , 7- Arts.
Thank you very much, isetan
In terms of COP, Nanyang (Science) is on par with Victoria JC (Science), also 6 points. Just one point behind RI (Science), at 5. Impressive, because Nanyang is not an IP-JC
Well done, Nanyang, keep it up !
wow, really not easy to score 6 points -
Hi, I have a friend whose son meet the COP of his choice JC Eunoia but was posted to a poly. I am curious if posting is purely base on merit or there are other criteria that MOE considers?
-
your friend’s son, prefer Poly or prefer JC ? Some of the Poly courses are very interesting
Since mentioned that he had met Eunoia JC Cut-off-point, if he prefer JC, perhaps can appeal ? -
Just to share the same happened to my nephew too!
He prefers poly but parents (especially SIL) wants him to go JC. He got 8 points (10-2) and Dunman is the first choice due to proximity to home. They appealed today but many are appealing too. Some are 9 pointers whereas others are 8.
SIL even called MOE to enquire the reason for meeting COP but did not get posted to the JC but MOE officer only suggest them to go down to JC and appeal. Did not disclose any additional information.
@mylilgirl - I dropped you a PM. Thanks to check. -

I thought Dunman High’s COP is 9 and 10 respectively for Science and Arts? So if your nephew got 8 points he should be able to get into Dunman High no matter what?Just to share the same happened to my nephew too!

NYJC will never be a 3rd placing JC and never was.
They are now joint 3rd place as this year COP have change due to popularity of that JC.
Please take note that it is the school cohort A level results is the barometer that determines which JC is the best rank JC.
Yes, NYJC have done a good job marketing themselve to the public and able to draw few nett 6 & 7 pointers to the school. But if they were to be able to do that for the next few years comsecutively and go above VJC in terms of popularity COP.
Then we can acknowledge that they are 3rd rank JC in terms of COP which is also its popularity choice of the JCs among the PSLE students. -

Whats there to ask since the school choice is allocated by MOE computer system and the system pioritise Merit then follows by the placing of the choices. If the child result meet the COP and place as 1st choice and didnt get a place means he have lost out to others by results or by decimal places.Just to share the same happened to my nephew too!

The likely reason could be DHS manage to draw more 6-8 pointers to their school as this year is the first time they participate in JAE posting of school and they are in to attract some of the smartest students outside of IP programme. -

If the final Nett score is the same, identical between 2 O-level students, then based on merit, the MOE computer system will take in those first, whose L1R5 Original Raw score BEFORE apply (before minus away) the Bonus points, is the lowest, because the smaller number the Original Raw score, the better it is.
