BCME is a heavy combination esp B&C

I think all combinations especially 4H2 are heavy regardless of what subjects you take.
Is it possible to take 3H2 + 2H1 at JC? I want to go to Science stream and study Bio Chem Math Econs Lit, possible?

Yes it is possible but it depends on whether your JC will allow it.

I thought 3H2 + 2H1 (include GP) is the norm for all JCs. It's only 4 H2 + 1 H1 (GP) that is offered in the top and mid tier JCs?

        Yes? No??
Can take 4H2 + 2H1

Physics and math could be senang for some

            Yes? No??
Hamsomy is referring to 3H2 + 2H1 core subjects, on top of GP, PW and MT.

OIC. Is there any substantial benefit to do this?

I would discourage it unless the student really has a lot of capacity. It would mean spreading efforts thinner, probably having to reduce CCA and other involvement, and may mean less energy to cope with an H3 (if the students later wants to take one). I guess it does give and extra H1 grade to use for university application (more choice, not that you can use all 5 content subjects). My daughter very briefly considered asking to do that, but I pointed out that since she wanted to take 2 CCAs and possibly a H3, she should just stick with her 4 content subjects. She is now so busy she's glad she didn't!

No real benefit to doing this except to feed the subject interest of the student. And if you intend to apply to local unis, there really is no advantage as they'll only consider the prerequisite subjects for the course and your UAS. As for scholarships, you're probably better off doing H3 and beefing up your CCA and other activities.

Is H3 a ‘requirement’ for scholarships? Have you heard any scholarship recipients who did not take H3?

H3 is required for A* Scholarship. But not all scholarships.

No, H3 is not a requirement for scholarships.
