I guess NAN HUA PRIMARY :rahrah:
Reasons:
1) In 2006 RGPS top the list, Nan Hua was out ot 16th in the list of TOP
In 2007 St Hilda top the list, Nan Hua was 16th in the list of TOP
In 2008 NYPS top the list, Nan Hua was 8th in the list of TOP
In 2009 NHPS will be the TOP
(the pattern is NanHua moves up eight position each year)
2) 风水轮流转- 2009 is Nan Hua's turn
3) Nan Hua is not only a GEP school but also SAP school.
4) This year is the first batch of 'GEP in TWINNING' classes graduating so NHPS will want to prove that 'GEP in TWINNING' is GREAT and can produce top scholar as well!
5) The last TOP PSLE scholar that Nan Hua produced was in 2003, six years later in 2009 Nan Hua will produced the next top scholar because '6' is my lucky number and this year my boy is in Nan Hua.
6) Since the current principal who took over in 2004, there was no Top Scholar produced in Nan Hua. This year is her last year to produce a TOP scholar before moving on to NYPS next year to be the principal there. So since she is good to be moving on to NYPS which everyone thinks so highly of it, she should be able to produce one top scholar else how is she going to produce new future scholar in NYPS right???
7) I do know that the top pupils in NHPS work very hard and hand-in-hand with the supportive and helpful teachers during the PSLE this year , and also their parents are as KS as those I have read in the forum too, so they should be able to produce 2009 TOP SCHOLAR.
Ha...ha... so much for my reasons, and I sincerely hope I will win the 100 + 200 kiasu points because I am also KIASU . -

Hi Atan and vlim,
:celebrate: congratulations...I am invited also...hooray...thinking of what to wear on that day haaaaaaaaa..just jokingAtan:
Hi All,
Just want to share my Joy with all Kiasu comrades.. I have just received our son's NYPS P1 report card with an invitation card to attend the prize giving ceremony this Fri as one of the top 5 kids in his class
Note in NYPS, top 5 children are given prizes with no ranking for the rest in class.
This is totally unexpected as he made quite a few silly mistakes for his SA2 exam and he was really bochap and did little revision. All I managed to do was let him do some pass year papers.
I am over the moon!! Pls do not laugh at me ok.. I know this in only the beginning of a long journey to PSLE..Sec, JC and Uni.
CONGRATULATIONS to both of you and your kids - Well Done and keep it up. :celebrate: -
Oops!!! I'm kind of worried for NYPS from next year onwards......

Thank you CKS .
I make it , so waiting for my another 100 KS points on 26th Nov 09 -
KSP:
Not to worry, producing top scholar is not the only task of principal and besides I always believe that TOP SCHOLAR is the result of the child's hard work, the supportive parents giving supportive environment, etc., etc. In fact, the parents and the child himself/herslef are the most important issue. Becoming a top scholar will need the child to be prepared from young and not only in primary school. Try asking some top students or scholars, I think majority of them starts young. Their foundations are good and strong. Nanyang can produce many past scholars because many 'rich' parents had placed their kids in Nanyang and all these rich kids have already received great support since young (tuition, enrichment, SAHM etc., etc.).Oops!!! I'm kind of worried for NYPS from next year onwards......

Nan Hua probably was not lucky enough to get students with very very kiasu and supportive attitude to produce a top scholar for the past years but not for this year... just wait and see.
The principal only plays a small part for producing top scholar but principal plays an important role in the overall performance / activites of the school.
WHY WORRY , JUST BE HAPPY .Your worries will not change the decision by MOE. -

My prediction is Raffles Girls' Primary. Reasons:
1) It hasn't produced a student in the Top 10 Ranking list in the last 2 years, so with a new principal this year, the pressure is on!
2) Read from other threads that there is a GEP student who tops the GEP cohort year after year (if my memory serves me right).
3) Hope that RGPS, by producing a top PSLE scorer this year, will result in more parents interested in sending their kids to this school so that my DD gets better chance at the neighbouring NYPS P1 registration next year!
So mummies of existing RGPS girls, don't write too much bad things about the school, ok?

Thanks, chief
Wow, my first KSP points!
