Applying to Universities

Hi parents
Can someone explain the difference in these two courses:
NUS - BBA(Accountancy)
NTU - Bachelor of Accountancy
Are both courses similar? I always thought that the accountancy course was only offered by NTU. -

My fren son enrolled accountancy in NTU over NUS cos NTU is 3 years study whereas NUS is 4 years. She said they are both the same. You can enquire more if her statement is true.

My DS received an invitation by NTU President for a High Tea session on 16 March.
The President will be delivering a speech and after that they will mingle and interact with NTU scholars and Senior Management.
Is this a scholarship exercise?

No. Don’t think it’s for scholarship. NTU is probably trying to lure your DS over :).

This is just a Tea session invitation sent to selected students which NTU hopes to 'recruit\". My DD in JC2 also got invited. Government agencies are also very active in sending out invitations for tea sessions now for talks on scholarship application. This week is MFA (Ministry of foreign affairs)

About REP as I saw your Qs in earlier post, my niece was accepted 2 years ago with all As but a B for GP (so no need 90rp), she didn't take up because she was successful in admitting to dentistry.
NTU recently shared some information on admission to their courses, they will consider to take in students with passion even though the student does not meet the admission criteria.
FYI, REP took in about 50+ students last year, out of which >60% were from HCI/RI.
So APPLY if your son is really interested. Good Luck! -

Hallo,
My DS is interestEd in NTU's Renaissance Engineering Programme.
The admission for the 9th and 10th percentile is AAA/A.
He got As for all his subjects, except for a B for his GP.
During one talk by NTU recently that my DS attended, one professor there said students who were admitted into REP all scored the perfect 90 Rank Points.
Is this the case? If my DS don't have 90 Rank Points, does this means he has no chance?
My son’s frens got into REP with AAAA and gp B, applied in 2017 and AAAA and gp C, applied in 2018.
Please do apply, he has a chance for interview. -

The AAAA/C-offered-NTU-REP boy is waiting for replies from Oxford and Cambridge after his interviews. He has an offer from Imperial already and has also gotten a GMS from NUS. Don’t think he will be matriculating for NUS/NTU.
These boys don’t do H3s.
Actually there are several children I kn who are straight As students with outstanding NS/CCA records who never applied for scholarships/overseas elite uni/local ultra competitive courses like med-law-dent-rep etc. They are just happy in the common local uni courses they hv chosen. -
