Thank you Snow Crystal for the respond, almost re-post my question thinking that my question could be overlooked due to the earlier \"court case\". Glad that now they have cleared the air. :celebrate:
You are referring to CHIJ TP and the scores you mention are the public ie non affiliated score ranges under S1 posting. The missing link is the affiliated girls' score ranges. Please see below for full picture. A good website is MOE website School Information System for these past year stats.
Aggregate range of 2010 Primary 6 pupils posted to 2011 Secondary 1

\tLower\tUpper\tMean\tMedian\tLower\tUpper\tMean\tMedian
Normal Academic\t 185\t 199\t 191\t 191\t 154\t 189\t 175\t 181
Express\t 238\t 257\t 242\t 241\t 193\t 264\t 225\t 228

FYI - CHIJ TP has COP of 200 for 2012 Sec 1 affiliated girls.
Any CHIJ TP parent please correct me if wrong. I am not a parent there.
Yes, I had quoted it using CHIJ TP but this is not the only school but it applies to most schools, including neighborhoods'. How about those neighborhoods and without any affiliation?
Thank you. -

Without giving specific examples it's very difficult to advise  Suggest you go into MOE website School Information Service section - select the school you are interested and you can see a whole wealth of information including its past few year's COPs with breakdown by Express and Normal. If still puzzling perhaps you can state some numbers here with school name and we all try to chip in to explain.

If you want your kid to have a higher chance of coming in TOP (i.e. 1st in Sg) in PSLE, let him/her take Malay as MT. Tamil as MT will greatly reduce your chance.
