The end of the world is when all of the living organisms are wiped out,so not to worry.Anyway,PSLE is just a step in life and it is not the end of the world when you did badly, there are many other chances in life!Be optimistic!

        mummy so kiasu:
        Skyed:

Hi guys I took my PSLE in 2008. I got 3A* and 1A (for chinese) and got a Tscore of 254. The same year, a friend of mine got 2A* and 2As and got 254 as well. So it's really quite hard to predict what you will get..

The range for A is very wide. My boy gets 2A* & 2A & he only get 250. It depends whether it is high or low end A. Don't even know how they derive the grade.

Plus the subject you A* and A in also make a difference. I read in this blog http://hedgehogcomms.blogspot.com/2012/10/piecing-together-psle-puzzle.html that a student (Lesley-Ann) scored a A* for maths in 2009 PSLE even though she did not complete many questions.

PLSE always seems to throw out surprises and puzzles. There is no right or wrong - just mystery.

          Hi VALyap,

          I like your post...it's really good :hi5:
I think that's why there is this topic on 'adaptation' in P6 Science. :rotflmao:

Seriously, that jump from P4 - P5 is really more like a LEAP towards the unknown. Almost all the kids will see that sharp drop...making all parents hysterical :lightrod:

I sent my gal to MPM which is a Taiwanese maths coaching method . my gal went there from lower pri to upper sec. they teach Maths word problems which I found very enriching . after this I noticed my gal was much better with Maths word problems . my niece attended thus course too but unfortunately thought niece was good in Maths but lost alot of marks in careless mistakes . so sometimes kids do not get good grades in psle due to careless mistakes and not because they are weak in Maths . must try and teach them to be more careful and check their working and answers very carefully.

Whether it's the end of the world or not depends on your expectations. There are ample schools in Singapore for kids who score lower than 250, and kids from these schools can do equally well or better than those in the 'good' schools in future exams.

my nephew scored 210 for his psle as he was a late bloomer but for GCE O Levels he did very well and went to Anderson Junior College and did very well for A levels and got a place to study aeronautical engineering at NUS which he would pursue after his NS. so please don't let people scare you with PSLE.

A good score is one that allows the child go to the sec school she/ he desires.

I think self confidence and can-do attitude is more important than high scores. Life is not smooth sailing and our young should learn in life at various stage how to cope in difficult situations so they grow to be resilient adults. If I can see my kids learn this, I feel I have done my job as a parent. Good results is not everything.

a good t-score is to you and to choose a school that will provide you the best opportunity to develop your potentials…. everyone of us has our potentials and limitations, we have to accept that not all cheetahs run at same speed and sustaining that x-speed of equal distance! :xedfingers:

                      KSP:
What is a good score in PSLE?

for a student who always scored >90% in sch, a 240 in PSLE would be :yikes: :lightrod: :faint: 😢 :frustrated: :stompfeet: :stupid: :spank:   :heresmyfish:

for a student who always scored <60% in sch, a 240 in PSLE world be :rahrah: :celebrate: :congrats: :salute: :hi5:

So, what is a good score in PSLE? 🤷

Excellant analysis KSP! My DD belongs to the first category. Very very frustrating. :faint:
