Appeal Secondary One Posting

BlueBells:
Sadly to say, I am the only confidant for my daughter as she was quite an introverted person. My husband was almost a \"hands-off\" father who don't really bother about the kids physical and intellectual development. Honestly I would prefer her to stay in her posted school, I appealed for her then because I respected her decision. I don't want her to spend the next 4 years in a school which she personally don't like. I believe she has taken in considerations of my analysis with regards to logistics and school standard for a neighbourhood school.
I would double check her decision in the presence of another person (could be your spouse or her siblings to ensure there is witness) and go with her decision. It may not be what you want, but your daughter will be the one studying and making new friends. If that's what she wants now, support her and make the best out of it.rsbjgz:
Need some advice please!
My daughter was posted to her 2nd choice (<10km away) of school which was nearer to our home as compared to her 1st choice (25km away).
We appealed to her 1st choice of school on the day of S1 posting announcement. I have called the appealed school numerous times and was told that they are still shortlisting. They refuse to disclose if there was any withdrawal from the school and informed me that they will only called for those successful appeals by 1st week of January 2013. I was told that they will not inform those unsuccessful appeals because there were too many mass appeals for 2013 intake. FYI my daughter's COP was lower by 1 point to her 1st choice of school.
My daughter told me last night that she decided not to wait for the appeal and will stay onto her posted school considering the location factor. She asked me to proceed buying the school uniform and books.
What will you do if was in my position? To wait or not to wait?
Actually she prefers to go to her 1st choice of school partly also because she prefers an all girls school. I was in a dilemma currently as more or less I have \"affected\" her decision to stay on. I really don't understand why the appealed school can't give us a firm successful / unsuccessful reply with a stipulated dateline.
When I seek my husband's opinion, he simply replied :\"just stay on lor, nearer what!\" :stupid: -
Anyone successful in appealing to Commonwealth care to share? Cheers

Can I ask? What if i am number 13 on the waiting list and only the first 2 students have been accepted into the school.Do I still have a chance and should I buy textbooks and uniform for my originally posted school first since school is starting soon?

Hi am new here!
Am also wondering if anyone has successfully appealed to AMK Sec Sch? Thanks! -
My child missed first and second choice by decimal points (i.e made the official cut off marks of both schools). Thankfully, we were notified 2 days ago that appeal was successful by first choice school. I like to share my experience:
a. My understanding is that you don’t need the textbooks generally on the first week of school due to orientation. So it is ok to defer the purchase of textbooks to first week of January for those waiting for appeal results.
b. Uniform is more trickly - suggest checking with vendors of both schools (posted school and the one you appeal to) to see what are the uniform vendor’s opening hours and venue of sale on 31/12. One option is to buy one set first if you have limited time on 31/12. Some schools allow primary school uniform on first few days. Call to check.
c. The independent schools can allocate significant no of vacancies (eg 30) in the appeal phase. Once these places at top schools are taken up, they free up places at other schools. RGS and RI appeal results were out by yesterday, so I guess vacancies will appear at the 24x-25x schools now, and a few days at other schools with lower COP and so on… Hence it can take till first week of January. -
Hi, has anyone appealed to and heard from Maris Stella High yet?
-
Hi, how about Crescent Girls? Anyone has appealed to and heard from them? According to the school, the appeal result should be out today.

Two of my DD’s classmates appeal to Nan Hua but one was successful and the other one was rejected.
Any idea what is their t score?
The one was successful was 244 and the one was rejected was 242.
Any idea does the one that was rejected did receive call from the school? My dd’s friend appealing to NH, called the school, they said too many students appealing in/out, need to wait till 31 Dec… wondering will the school call if fail the appeal? -
Hi! Does anyone here has successfully appealed to St. Nicholas?
