May I know how did you know that 10 students fighting for 8 places?kwcllf:
Has anyone appealed to Chung Cheng Main? Please feedback if received any news. Thanks.
I was informed of an interview on 31st. From what I know, its 10 students fighting for 8 places - if I am not wrong.
The 10 students are with a COP of 238.
My DS got 236+2 but we have not received any calls. -
How many students are posted in S1 to RV this year? 400? or 390? or 370?
30 spaces may not mean that they have to fill up all of them. For example, S1 posting may get 390. They can then have the discretion to fill up from zero up to 30 students through appealing process. Am I correct?
All the thirty spaces r filled up.
I don’t think RV reserve 30 places for appeal.
RV is government school, all place should be for DSA and S1 Posting, 150 for DSA and 250 for S1 posting, only some students transferred to RI/HCI/NYGH/RGS, then certain places available for appeal.
Former P Mr Koh did mention in open house, school only accept 30 appeal applications and first choice must be RV
I saw RV appeal application form, indicate few questions
1)PSLE T score
2)Choice of school
3)Apply DSA to RV?
4)Any Siblings in RV?
5)Special talent? -

Good Day, RVHS,
You've got a good point there and I strongly supported the statement. Appeal cases are happening in each and every schools of Singapore after the announcement of S1 posting. In simple physics, if there's no void, there's no gap and the filling in and flowing out is everywhere. Number of students per institution is capped at a fixed quota by MOE. You can have less students but no excess filling-up. Parents in particular of today are very conscious in the quality of learning, that's why we have so many appeal cases rumbling online in this forum. Thanks RVHS. Have A Great Day. and ... weihan ... pse be conservative in your assessment, no offence. Cheers -
My original understanding regarding appealing was correct. i.e. only when there are students transfering out will vacancies be cleared out for appealing. The number of students posted to a school thru S1 posting is fixed at a quota stipulated by MOE.
I only get confused when someone mentioned that NJC’s principal said that they can increase another 50 places if they want to…and some schools reserve places for appealing etc… -
