Hi,
some say put the school and first choice, sent an appeal letter to justify for why you want to go there, provide more info abt your kid like ECA achievments or other achievements for their consideration. See if other parents can chip in more info. It seems that this is the trend.
The only thing you might have to consider: do you want your kid to be the bordeline one in school or mid in school?

thanks, millan โฆ Her t-score was pulled down by her MT which is actually her strongest subject. This has been her target since the beginning of the year and i believe she can do well and enjoy school life there. just wish we know how to present a strong case to the school.

4 points is a lot consider the whole corhort...chances are slim...somemore is njc...do consider carefully about your first choice.... -

i agree. 4 points make a big gap so your chance is not high.

Having said that, since your single-minded child is so depressed, I think you should do something to reward her efforts. Put NJ as first choice and another school of 254 as second choice. After you get your posting, go NJ and appeal. (Some schools are actually accepting appeals now. Call NJ and check).
I did it for my daughter, COP 236 but she only got 234. I appealed and finally got into her dreamed school, on the 2nd Friday of January. It is going to be a rewarding experience as the process itself would yiled strong bonding between parents and child .... -

Guess you really need to pre-empt yr kid if it doesn't work out. At least your kid is mature enough to set her own target.
All my son care is what kind of CCA, what kind of food, whether the library big a not.
I ever thot of appealling a school for us but think better not as do not want him to be the bottom of the range.
But for you case, if you say it is the MT, then there might be a chance ? Lets hope Bentan cld help you.
But if it doesn't, tell your kid, at least you have tried and there are still other good schools.. -

IMHO, you should go and speak to the the school and understand their criteria for accepting appeal then work you appeal around it. -

Generally all schools have the same criteria:
IMHO, you should go and speak to the the school and understand their criteria for accepting appeal then work you appeal around it.
1) If the Principal or the Vice-Principal say \"Yes\", it is done. Anyone else such as HOD, school board member etc has no power to say \"Yes\". I know of a rejected case of a parent who is a school board member - He can't even appeal for his own son because the Principal said \"No\".
2) Almost all cases of successful appeal are based on CCA. Do thorough research on the CCA that the school is strong at. If your child is willing to work hard on this CCA, then appeal through it. Find out who is the teacher in charge of this CCA. If they engage outsider (such as badminton coach, choir conductor .. etc), go and talk to them.
Perseverance: Please do not force your way during appeal. No bribery, no rude calls.... One wealthy parent whom I was helping forced her way into the Principal room on the third day after meeting the polo teacher ... Not only she got rejection, she also got a military scolding by the Principal.
