      We are very similar!

My DS is smarter by nature as compared to my DD. But I still hope she can \"kai qiao\" before P3 for the GEP(again??) oops
well if my dd is to be like that till p3 (actually at the moment she is above average) I think I wouldn't wish that she get into gep 'by luck\" else I would need to put on 3 oxygen masks haaaaaaaaa πŸ˜‰

To me the 1st round is to convince the teacher or school to put her name up for the 1st selection test. I don't think everyone in P3 sit for it. Otherwise it will be another nation wide exam like PSLE. It got to be from teacher or school recommendation for the selected students. That's my understanding.

Errr, the invitation is open to all P3 students, not through recommendations, however it is optional to take the GEP screening test.

oh no.. all are p3 students are invited.. unless parent opt out...last yr my son class only one student opt not to take the screening tests. As it is to screen for gifted children so is unfair for teacher or principal to do recommendation... they might miss out the super dupor gifted one ha πŸ˜‰

But I don't think MOE prepare 40+K sets of test paper like they do for PSLE.

Not so sure about this. My ds is in the top p3 class, and all of them took the 1st rd. My nephew, same school but different class, when i ask him abt GEP, he stare blankly at me. I think for neighbourhood school, maybe not everyone do the test.

They will give out the consent form to all P3 students few months prior to the screening test to invite your child to take the test.

So from there, they will tabulate the number of students taking the test.

I believe all P3 are invited for the screening test, irregardless if the child is in a neighbourhood school or SAP school.

                      Any other views?
