Errr, the invitation is open to all P3 students, not through recommendations, however it is optional to take the GEP screening test.
But I don't think MOE prepare 40+K sets of test paper like they do for PSLE.

Not so sure about this. My ds is in the top p3 class, and all of them took the 1st rd. My nephew, same school but different class, when i ask him abt GEP, he stare blankly at me. I think for neighbourhood school, maybe not everyone do the test.

They will give out the consent form to all P3 students few months prior to the screening test to invite your child to take the test.

So from there, they will tabulate the number of students taking the test.

I believe all P3 are invited for the screening test, irregardless if the child is in a neighbourhood school or SAP school.

            Any other views?

                  vlim, I thought so too.

That might be another possibility unless he opts out?

I am very sure they will be given the consent form for the screening test.

another 现豑 that i observed is that \"elite\" schools have much more students making in to 2nd round, compare to neighbourhood school. My ds school only have 15 pax for rd 2, while some of the elite school have bus loads of them.

so it could be that their students is \"drilled\" to take the screening, or they have more students participating in rd1? or simple elite school have more \"gifted\" children.
