Not so sure about this. My ds is in the top p3 class, and all of them took the 1st rd. My nephew, same school but different class, when i ask him abt GEP, he stare blankly at me. I think for neighbourhood school, maybe not everyone do the test.
maybe he already took the test without knowing that it is a gep screening test haaa.. just guessing...
-
vlim, I thought so too.
That might be another possibility unless he opts out?
I am very sure they will be given the consent form for the screening test. -

oh yes there is such form given prior to the test.vlim, I thought so too.

another 现象 that i observed is that \"elite\" schools have much more students making in to 2nd round, compare to neighbourhood school. My ds school only have 15 pax for rd 2, while some of the elite school have bus loads of them.
so it could be that their students is \"drilled\" to take the screening, or they have more students participating in rd1? or simple elite school have more \"gifted\" children. -

heeeee... this topic has been discussed before..... long story....another 现象 that i observed is that \"elite\" schools have much more students making in to 2nd round, compare to neighbourhood school. My ds school only have 15 pax for rd 2, while some of the elite school have bus loads of them.

So did your nephew go for the selection test? -
vlim:
Then it is ESP leh, not GEP. :rotflmao:
............maybe he already took the test without knowing............

rosicky:
while I'm not sure about the 1st speculation, I'm sure they'll have more gifted kids, many of whom have grandparents or even great grandparents who are professionally trained (docs, lawyers, big time businessmen)!!
so it could be that their students is \"drilled\" to take the screening, or they have more students participating in rd1? or simple elite school have more \"gifted\" children. -
