Maris Stella seem to be very popular this year. A friend even put it as 1st choice despite getting a good score of 248+2.

I have a dilemma - which is a better choice HCI or NUSHS. I am now faced with both options for DS. Is CL and HCL going to factor a lot in HCI? We have to do so much last hour brushing up of Chinese for his PSLE that we dread it alot.

Does HCI really offer a lot more in terms of "holistic" education? Anyway, what is "holistic"? How is that taught?

Some other factors you can consider:

            1. Distance to home
            2. HCI is good in Sports and other CCA like uniform groups, etc
            3. HCI is single sex while NUSH is mixed
            4. You get A levels after 6 years in HCI but a School Diploma from NUSH
            5. Your child may get guidance from NUS professor is he/she is gifted in certain subjects in NUSH

Thanks; has anyone had any experience of "surviving" in HCI without being that good in CL? Would you mind to share the experience.

Also understood that there is a special A star grouping in HCI for GEP students. At least, the syllabus for maths at least appears to be different from the rest. Does anyone knows if this creates an uneven playing field in the cohort?

a few sschools i went, i oso heard principals saying that their schools provide \"holistic\" learning, be it RGS, today at DHS, and oso some other schools' open hse.
