Thanks for the PM. Sorry for the late update. I am still not sure how this PM thing works here or what is it that I have not set etc. In other forums that I a member of, I get a pop up window each time a new PM comes in and also an email alert, but in this forum, I do not get any pop up window or email alert and therefore I do not know if a new PM has come in. My apologies! Have told Chief and he's puzzled too. :?

NYGH definitely at 263 based on central posting exercise. My girl's schoolmate scored 262 (she does not have HMT), put NYGH as first choice but was posted to RGS instead which is her second choice. Don't think Hu Jin Tao's visit make a huge impact as suggested by James Ang. I think many parents read up the \"reviews of both schools in this forum\" and may have been swayed towards NYGH.

It is a \"halo effect\", which makes the school look good, but usually parents/students may not attribute their selection to this as main criterion. It is a positive effect nevertheless that probably swayed the final selection to the NYGHS side of the fence.

Some other factors you can consider:

1. Distance to home
2. HCI is good in Sports and other CCA like uniform groups, etc
3. HCI is single sex while NUSH is mixed
4. You get A levels after 6 years in HCI but a School Diploma from NUSH
5. Your child may get guidance from NUS professor is he/she is gifted in certain subjects in NUSH
