hi qms,
because just now Izxuan went to the LSH@Ulu Pandan n find out that there r a number of teachers graduated from china, india ect.. Some are cert holder only.
I'm also v puzzled how come the LV management still don wanna let them know the location of the school??
I'll be meeting Joanna next monday
Do update us after the briefing ya. -
Hi ladies,
Just visited LSH at Ulu Pandan. The place is clean. But some classrooms are having low partition wall (low cupboard as partition) makes the classroom messy. When I visited at 1pm+, all the children except K2 are sleeping. Teacher in K2 was still reading out loudly the spelling for the children. N2 children located at another partition just opposite K2 are sleeping. Don't really like this open concept, would still prefer individual classrooms.
The whole unit is air-conditioned. They do not own their playground, teachers will bring the children to playground at level 2 (LSH located at Level 3). May be I am too pampered with KV large campus, the place really cramp to me.
The student care even worst. A room which they can take in 28 students, eat/nap/homework all on the same table.
When I went there, some students are shouting to each other playing, a few are still eating. The person who showed me around said that the teacher in charged of these students went down to fetch another student.
The teachers qualification, some are graduated from China, India, Indonesia, etc. Some are certificate holders. For LV, those English teachers mostly are local diploma.
Fee wise, $880 before subsidy. Not cheap. Compare LSH@Ulu Pandan with LV@SP2, I will take LV. One good thing is that parents can specific not to give what food to the children on the board, the kitchen uncle will prepare accordingly. Like no chicken, no egg, no butter, no sweet potato, etc. There is one even no birthday cake, poor thing.
The K2, they were taught on Hanyu pinyin, money calculation, Cheng yu (chinese idioms). Not sure LV chinese syllabus contains these. As I understand from a parent that her son graduated last year from LV, they were not taught of Hanyu pinyin and her son is having hard time catching up with it in P1. Qms, can comments? -
hi all, chance upon this. My child is also in LV@NUS? Have decided to go science park 2.

hi shooflea,
Why you confirm going to SP2? Did you went for the LSH briefing? -
hi fion, no i did not attend but my children have been with LV n e elder one already in primary school. Like e teachers n e principal. My son has did very well in P1 n can c e foundation there. LV met my needs so no issues. One word of advice though, trust ur mother instinct. Everyoneโs needs n expectations are different.

Yes, I saw that too just now. That is almost towards the end of SP2 at the left. In a rush, not manage to see in details.

Fion, perhaps this afternoon let Joanne explain to you the layout then you come tell us. One glance through seems like very few classroom but have a big music room.

hello,
Just came back from LV. Joanna Was not there because she went for meeting. Ya the new location @SP2 is at the Crimson. There is a playground, open and enclose class room i dont know how many classrooms r there but sure lesser than the current one because their intake for LVSP2 will be lesser. The children r having lunch when we reach there the some teachers r feeding the toddler..Can see n feel that the children r enjoying themself but the school is a bit run down. I asked if any teacher will be joining LSH n she said that non of them will be joining them because they have join LV for so many years they don wanna join new environment and restart evenything again.
