I’ve emailed the centre at Biopolis to make an appointment to view the place but it seems like the principal is on leave. Am wondering if LV allows trial lessons? Intially, i contacted the centre at MOE then realised it’s only for MOE staff. So the principal suggested Biopolis…

        hi qms,

I'm back from the half day with my son .
Druing the half day , nothing was taught.
The kids are walking around playing with the toys or read their book.

There r 1 teacher with 6 kids .. the teacher cant really look afetr all the kids so some of them just walk outside of the classroom or do their own things.
        Hi Fion,

My son is also gg there in June, toddler class. I remembered when I went to their open house, they have a schedule to follow. I saw on their door that they pasted a schedule. I am worried if they gg to walk around themselves..my boy will hurt himself coz he like to do somersault on the ground...climb everywhere..

Or is their lessons conducted in the afternoon?

For LV, their lessons are usually in the morning. The children have their lunch at from 11 am onwards (depending on the schedule), and thereafter, shower. They will then take their nap until about 3.30 pm. Lessons are minimal after they wake up, because that's the time when the enrichment programs take place.

The lesson mostly will conduct in the morning time.

They do have a schedule to follow but don forget toddlers class are the youngest amoung all and is much difficult to control n conduct lesson.

Is difficult for all the toddlers to sit down n listen to wat the teacher r teaching. Some will tend to walk around, play with toys, touch this and that … than the teacher will try to settle them than another few do somethings else. Than a lot of time is wasted .

Than noon time will be lunch , nap, shower… after than nothing much will be taught.

Anyone sending their child to LV@CBP?

I am in a dilemma now. I have 2 daughters in this ccc. One in N2, the younger in toddler class. Both started when they turned 18/19 months. I really like the school curiculum and environment. The principal, Ms Janice is very commited and has strong conviction. The \"old' teachers are all excellent and are very commited too.
For the past 2+ years, i can leave my elder daughter at the center without any qualms or worry.

Why the dilemma? This year, i noticed a high teacher turn over rate. And most of the new teachers are not up to standard. It is more apparent for toddler class. After first 2 rocky months, my younger daughter finally got 2 good teachers. But after 6 months, one of them quited. She is replaced by a rookie.

What should i do? Should i subject my daughter as a training subject for rookie teachers? Or pull her out to other ccc with less turnover rate? 😢

In general, I think teachers’ turn over is a problem in a lot of places esp with many new centres opening every month. Hence, even if you switch to another centre, can you be sure that it will not happen again?

I guess the good thing about LV and larger established operators is they would have their curriculum in place. So if a teacher leaves, at the least the curriculum is still there and the teacher who takes over will continue to carry out the curriculum. For some centres which largely depend on the teachers, then it will be a problem.

So the prob is with the teachers for your younger gal? For your elder gal in N2, it is ok?

I am intending to send my daughter to the learning vision when she turns 18 months next Jan. Any comments besides the teachers?

Hi Keendaddy, yes, i totally agree with you. It’s my fear that it will be same situation in other ccc. And there could be another set of issues.

I like LV’s curriculum and infastructure in CBP branch is nice.

But the teachers still matter, though not a much as small establishment.
At this branch the Principal is very commited, but a chain i as strong as the weakest link. How much can a principal do to grill a new teacher to the Centre’s culture and philosophy?

For my elder daughter’s class, the "old’ teacher left early this year and replaced by a "new" teacher. Is she good? Err, average…(Well, my elder daughter had an exceptional teacher last year. Thus i guess, it’s a difficult to fill her shoes).

The difference in my daughter’s learning progress and output for the past few months is quite apparent. Now, I feel guilty for neglecting my elder daughter cos i have been focusing on the younger’s class situation. I should be more concerned now that she wil be in K1 next year…

IMHO, for toddler class, the teachers matters the most. It's the most hectic age - with terrible twos. The teacher got to be very very patient.

So far, i have not seen any kids left crying alone unattended. Check with the pricipal, make sure your DD is the only one new that day. By right, she would stagger new intake, so that the teachers and helper can focus to settle the child.

The control of HMFD and Chix pox is quite good (except infant care).

One thing i like about LV@CBP is that parents are allowed in the center. It's quite tranparent on what's happening in class..

Anyone from LV@CBP now or previously. Anyone has a first hand comparison with other CCC?
