I am intending to send my daughter to the learning vision when she turns 18 months next Jan. Any comments besides the teachers?

Hi Keendaddy, yes, i totally agree with you. It’s my fear that it will be same situation in other ccc. And there could be another set of issues.

I like LV’s curriculum and infastructure in CBP branch is nice.

But the teachers still matter, though not a much as small establishment.
At this branch the Principal is very commited, but a chain i as strong as the weakest link. How much can a principal do to grill a new teacher to the Centre’s culture and philosophy?

For my elder daughter’s class, the "old’ teacher left early this year and replaced by a "new" teacher. Is she good? Err, average…(Well, my elder daughter had an exceptional teacher last year. Thus i guess, it’s a difficult to fill her shoes).

The difference in my daughter’s learning progress and output for the past few months is quite apparent. Now, I feel guilty for neglecting my elder daughter cos i have been focusing on the younger’s class situation. I should be more concerned now that she wil be in K1 next year…

IMHO, for toddler class, the teachers matters the most. It's the most hectic age - with terrible twos. The teacher got to be very very patient.

So far, i have not seen any kids left crying alone unattended. Check with the pricipal, make sure your DD is the only one new that day. By right, she would stagger new intake, so that the teachers and helper can focus to settle the child.

The control of HMFD and Chix pox is quite good (except infant care).

One thing i like about LV@CBP is that parents are allowed in the center. It's quite tranparent on what's happening in class..

Anyone from LV@CBP now or previously. Anyone has a first hand comparison with other CCC?

thanks for sharing. also considering this centre as an option.

think that’s the problem. the pay in ccc is so varied, so the good ones will get much higher pay if they jump to more expensive/branded cccs… then those that are more affordable are left with … whatever’s left… haiz.

Overall, i like this ccc. It is touted as the model center for LV.

But the principal has been having so much difficulty in getting good teachers. By the time she drill the teacher up to standard, the teacher would jump ship.

                    Hi all

I have 2 kids in the cc. 1 in K1 n 1 in infant. I do agree with sook that the teacher turnover rate is high, esp this year. Since my bb joined last year, think there has been at least 4 changes in the infant teachers. The new infant teachers will sort of be transferred out to the toodlers or Nursery after a few months in the infant section (becos of the turnover rate in toodlers and Nursery) and then there will be new infant teachers again. Maybe times are good now and teachers can always 'jump ship'

Put aside all these, i am actually quite satisfied with the centre so far. Each individual level will have a blog where the teacher will post in there pictures of what they have learnt in school and the excursion the kids have went etc.

I find that this is a very good update for us as working parents who might not always get to meet up with the teachers everyday and yet want to know what is our kids doing in school.

I have went round shopping for the cc when my kid is 18 months and this is the cc which i find it very comfortable when i 1st visited them. Clean and bright environment and the centre is very lively.

Hi sugar bunnies, if your #1 is with LV since 18 months, does it mean he/she joined when this branch was at Temasek Poly? Back then, they do not have infant care. And you'll know who are the \"old\" teachers.

I have to clarify a bit, the high turn over is indeed mostly from the toddler class. Unfortunately, my DD2 is in this class . I think it's due spillover from infant care into toddler class. Within this year, one of the teacher left in less than 1 month, the other applied no pay leave from day 1 - supposedly due to personal commitment. It takes a good teacher to be able to take so much work load and also meet the principal's high expectation. Survival of the fittest.

The silver lining is that DD2 will be promoted to N1 in a few months time. The principal told me that she planned to have an ex-LV teacher that i know will come back mid sept and take over DD2's group. 😄 Hope this plan will fall thru, 🙏 .

Also got to 🙏 hard that no more teachers get poached by other ccc.

Sigh.... Other than the toddler class high turnover rate, i am generally satisfied with the ccc. Both my DD enjoy going to school. DD1 is very close with her classmates, would be sad to separate them. The premises and the teachers are very cheery.

I should stop pestering the principal, lest she tekan my 2 DDs in school.

                        Hi,

Anyone send their child to LV@ Punggol?

Appreciate some feedback on this branch…

My boy is turning N1 next year and we are moving to punggol beginning next year so need to look for new CC for him.

                        Many thanks!
