My son is in infant care at LV @ Alpha. The class have 9 babies and 4 teachers, and the classroom can be seen thru from outside, so u can see what the teachers are doing insde, and how they take care of your baby..

Infant care is a new service offering from LV@Alpha. I suppose the teachers are all new teachers? -
Uhm.. this I'm not sure, bcos I only know LV@Alpha.. never visit the NUS centre before.. so i dunno if teachers are new.. but among the 4 teachers, 3 of them are very young & 1 in her early 40s (i guessed :p) lady

LVβs ratio is not lower than MCYS standard ratios I thinkβ¦ New centre therefore more teachers:children. Should just clarify with them.

Hi Fion!
These are activities organised by Learning Horizon.
The camps are usually held in May-June and Nov-Dec. It's called a camp but usually, transport is provided to pick up the children who register for the camp in the morning from the centre, and to send them back around 3-4 pm. The venue of the camp is dependent on the theme, but usually at Learning Horizon's centres.
Speech & Drama and Junior Science Program (JSP) are enrichment programs, and it depends on individual centres whether these are offered. For LV@Alpha when it was previously at Kent Vale, they offered JSP, Junior Dance Program (Ballet), music (to teach the children keyboards, etc.) and gym. All these come with additional costs, of course, ranging from $10-$20 per hour. English Speech & Drama was offered as part of the core curriculum, and hence, free.

i am not too sure of the individual fees but i am paying $877 every month after $300 deductible for working mother. the camp is just like what qms mention, is not staying overnight only a day events.

Hi qms,
I've been reading this thread for some time and I have a couple of questions to ask you seeing that you have some experience with LV@NUS. My DD has been attending K1 at LV@alpha for the past year...and I am very pleased with the teacher in charge and their curriculum, center, clealiness and all...
However, now in K2, she has a new teacher and she is the VP of this school. I just want to find out what you think about the quality of the teachers there as I think this new teacher doesn't really teach much and they are mostly left to play all day by themselves. I can accept this for tod or N1 level, but K2 needs to have more teachings and work to do to prepare them for P1....don't know , I'm just worried cos everyday i go fetch here, she's always playing and her class room is also not set up, no timetable, no display of their work and all....kinda strange since all the other classrooms in other levels have been set up already ....things are really going downhill....
This teacher comes from LV@NUS and have been with them for over 8 yrs i think...so just want to here your thoughts abt her...maybe if you can PM me, I'll be so grateful... this teacher also had a daugther in K2 last year...so she was actually teaching her own daughter...
This is kinda stressing me to the point of maybe pulling her out..but she likes the school alot so I don't want to make her adjust again esp since it's the last yr before P1....
Anybody else have any comments, do share with me...thanks so much...
