I read up books on glenn doman too. In fact i’m sending my son for shichida this coming july. Hmm soo i’ll know the difference soon.

I am planning/ thinking to bring in original books from Shichida (japan). It is only available in japan. Will mothers be interested in shichida books written by shichida? if so, i can bring in for you. of cos my price will be cheaper then if u buy it yourself!

Let me know if you are interested.

I think International chess helps to boost our child’s logical thinking and mathematics. You may try to look at some of chess courses that are offered by Intchess Asia. I have recently enrolled my child, and he can beat me in chess!

          Hi Mr Lee,

I do too agree international chess is one of the best games \"analytical\" for kids.
But chess, \"left brain\" skills because it involve \"logical\" and \"analytical\" skills.

I believe for babies and toddlers at a tender age, its more suitable to focus on \"right brain\" skills first.

According to Makoto Shichida, when a baby is born he or she use 100% of their right brain.
As they get older the left brain will develop gradually.

Anyway below are the difference of \"right brain\" and \"left brain\".

          Left Brain

          Conscious awareness
          Logical thinking
          Short term memory
          Slow input
          Detail analysis
          Relies on physical senses
          Likes repetitive input

          Right Brain

          Subconscious awareness
          Abstract thought
          Long term memory
          Fast input
          Gestalt (whole picture)
          Relies on intuition
          Soak up info like sponge

That is why I focus on right brain skills for my kids at an early age.

Only later, as they get older, I will focus on the left brain skills.

I don't expect my kids to be geniuses, but at least they will have a good education foundation.
Perhaps that will save me on future tuition fees. Heh heh!

PS. The difference between right and left brain article was taken from http://www.rightbraineducationshop.com FREE e-book. I hope they don't \"kill\" me for taking their notes.

            Is there chess for preschoolers?

Hello, can anyone advise me on whether to send my son to right brain tots in punggol or my little genius in kovan? 😓

I understand that MLG was formerly little neuro tree which in turn was evolved from shichida while RBT's teachers were the pioneer batch in shichida. Has anyone attended lessons at these two schools? I don't wish to spend too much $$ on trial lessons. Kindly advise if you know these two schools, thanks! 😄

                    Hi,

I just purchased a pre-loved Glenn Doman English kit and reading the How to teach your baby to read book. I'm a little confused on the instruction on what to do after day 3.

1)In the book it says: 'Your child first 3 sets have already been seen for a week so you may now begin to take out an old word in each set and put in a new one each day. Five days from now, retire an old word from each of the two sets you have just added in.' (What does it mean by the two sets? Is it refering to the 4th word set and 5th word set?)

                    2) Then further down the page it says' When this system is working smoothly, gradually add a fourth set of words then a fifth set of words to your daily program.' (This is where I don't understand, so when should I be adding these 2 new word sets? Cos the above point says that five days from now, but this point says when the system is working smoothly.)

For parents who are using GD flashcards, could you help to clarify?

It will be helpful if you can share on what to do on the 3rd day onwards.

                    Thanks in advance.

                        Hi,

is it too late to send my DD (just turn 3 last month) to SM class? There are so many type of enrichment class, e.g. English, Math, CL… so must see which one should learn first, as it involve a lot of $$$…

I am now thinking send her to SM class 1st or Phonic is more important? She is already in full day childcare.

Anyone pls share your thoughts… Thanks
