usually i use pink or odd colours like orange, purple angpao for my parents, ILs i will use red colour
I like to collect angpow paper. I will segregate all the different denominations into different packs. Then train hubby which is which

For my PIL, I will ask my hubby to give and using his own $$$.

We've that practise too. I've to prepare for my own parents and grandparents. Meanwhile hubby prepare for his. He will bear the cost for all the rest.

Maybe I did a good job \"educating\" him well at the beginning of the marriage. Anyway, I've surplus for him every year that we will carry forward to the next year.

I used the different angpows method on my wedding day…and then blur hubby go and give the wrong pack (the least amount) to one of my friends who was driving. I cannot live down the thought she must have of us…super kiam.

Typically we will go by size. The bigger the angpow, the more money there is. And I will pack the different denominations using rubber band, and label the rubber band with the appropriate amounts. For parents, it’ll be big big pack (usually denomination of $50s of $100s), so not likely to mistaken.

But I see nowadays, those good friends/colleagues, tend to give 1 purple 1 red ($12). Wonder where that came from.

First couple of years hubby did the distribution and he always booboo :P. Give twice, or totally missed out...

When we have boy much later, I realised he didn't collect that many ang pows...

After giving out 12/10 for few years then 'receive' back 4/6...
I not trying to be that calculative here, those are from close and well to do relatives...

He he...... now I 'smarter', using \"flexiplan\" 😉

I would always be in deficit as I only have 1 child and most of our friends and relatives have 2 or more...but I tell myself they have to spend more on new clothes  Just kidding...don't take this personal...

Actually, when kids know the value of $, parents will always be in a deficit position.

Same here for me... For my side of the family I will decide the amt and from my own pocket, while for MIL, DW will prepare plus for her own side of the family.

I dun give my mum regularly, during new year I will give her $1388 as ang pow ... For my nephews and nieces, it'll be a std $10 ea.
