Hopefully, bbrooster & skcmummy:
As long as the clock did not struck 8pm, hopefully still have chance. I remembered my previous mail send to me was 7 plus in the evening. But think my DD’s chance is low, coz she found the translation part was hard. Let’s just hope for the best. -
Thanks Ganjiongspider ! Yes, let’s hope for the best!

I think I have to say something but not to keep quiet when I see the comparison between grades and skills, and ms to ge, etc etc. Pls do not kill me, please.
Hey parents, all the schools like to choose the best they can get from their DSA. There's actually no clear lines between grades or skills or ms or ge. The only thing that super clear is the kids' talents and abilities that they shown to the school during dsa (information submission or HDP or interview).
How the school choose their students? Sure not only base on some certs but the overall turnouts of the child from p4 to p6 which includes talents, academic, cca, personality, kindness, leadership, team works, sports, arts, etc etc (pls add more because I know there must be so much more than these). There's no such thing that: \"oh! Because she/he has higher grades so was taken by the school\" or \"oh! Because she/he is ge so she/he win\" or \"oh because the interviewers liked them so they win larh\".
The schools are not idiots, the panel are not idiots. On the other hand, they are experienced and saw too many special cases than us.
Please do not reserve the cause and effect.
DSA are opened for talented kids who might be good at everything but talented/passionate with one/more thing(s) or who talented/passionate/Super good with one thing but ok/not ok with other things.
In the end, all our dear kids have to do PSLE.
P.s. Please do not laugh at the child who is willing to share his/her status openly with his/her friends/classmate. His/her simplicity is lovely.
Smiling, I agree with you completely.
Every school has a checklist of things that it wants in its DSA students. What that checklist is- only the school knows.
As a principal of a girls' school said during Open House: \"We are looking for girls with the X factor.\"
Whether our kids make it thru DSA or not, let's keep being their staunch supporter and cheerleader. -
smiling:
I agreed with you in general, but with exception to a few \"elite\" schools (think everyone knows which schools I am referring to). I think the way NUSH conducted their DSA is the best, they do not give special treatments to Gepper, do not discourage anyone from trying, all sat for same test and lets the results speak for the kids.I think I have to say something but not to keep quiet when I see the comparison between grades and skills, and ms to ge, etc etc. Pls do not kill me, please.

Whereas some \"elite\" schools, they have their minimum average scores that they will accept and the average scores are not anything below 90%. Hence, to some schools, DSA is not opened for ANYONE.
Just my opinion, please agree to disagree.
Peace :hugs: -
The waiting games is indeed not fun:(
Regretted that my son only applied for one school, should have apply more:( -

MotherOf2LovelyBoys:
Congrats Lokpry and S_Mummy on getting called for interview for SJI. Did anyone get an invitation for interview for DSA Sports?
DSA Sports has no interview maybe? It seems like everyone here has children who went for Leadership, Innovation and Arts interview at SJI.
Btw, anyone knows what is the IP and O Level intake for DSA for SJI?

Not sure for this year, But last year, DSA Sports boys had to attend interviews.
Dropped sji an email to check on status. They replied with the standard reply indicating dates for interviews. Not helpful at all. Sigh.
Ds friends went for interview sometime last week, they were in hockey and sailing domain.
