Not sure if it’s too late to ask.
If the child has 2 WL and decides to only indicate 1 school of choice. Does it give them more priority? I used to hear from friends and even P during OH that the kid has to put their school as 1st choice to get high chance but I don’t know does it make a difference if the child put preferred school as 1st and omit the 2nd or put 2 schools. -

If your child put preferred school as 1st and omit the 2nd, what this means is that if the preferred school has spots opened up after those with CO chose not to take up the offer and your child is ranked (within the school WL) among the spots available, your child WL will be converted to CO for this school on PSLE results release day. If not, then your child will not be allocated to any school via DSA and will participate in S1 posting. Not sure if it’s too late to ask.

If your child put preferred school as 1st and next school as 2nd, if spots available in 1st school (and your child is ranked among the spots available), your child will be allocated to 1st school. If no spots available in 1st school for your child, but spots available in 2nd school for your child, your child will be allocated to 2nd school instead. If both schools no spots, then your child will participate in S1 posting.
From my understanding, the only difference between first and second option, is that your child must be ok with being posted to 2nd school for the next 4-6 years if you choose the 2nd option. If your child really really like the preferred school, and has reasonable confidence in meeting the COP with PSLE results, then you may want to take a risk and just put preferred school and omit second school (otherwise may regret if posted to 2nd school and PSLE results can meet 1st school COP). However, the risk is that your child may end up in neither 1st nor 2nd school... If your child doesn't mind the 2nd school, then put preferred school 1st and next school 2nd. -

Thanks mommyng. So it really makes no impact on the priority, just a matter of preference. Got it.

Welcome. The impact on priority is more from your perspective rather than the school's perspective. If you prefer school A then you need to put school A as first choice and school B as second choice. If you put school B as first choice and school A as second choice, then if spots are available for both schools, your child will get in for school B but not school A.

Very appreciate your decisiveness in considerations for those others on WL waiting. Hope your girl is blessed with her choice school & thrive well happily.
