多说华语, 不过要找到对的人
多读报章, 若没时间,至少也得读标题
多写作文, 若没时间, 至少每天写几十个字的生活感想
若以上这些都没信心办到, 那么高级华文对你来说就是一座不可征服的高山了

Dear Parents

I am looking for a personal tutor for my son who will be taking his O level CHinese this year. On the PTM last week, the teacher said that he is the lowest in his class, scoring just 52 marks. I have been worrying about this and urgently need recommendation for a good Chinese tutor. Appreciate if you can recommend me any good tutor. Thanks in advance. No agent please !

If a Sec 2 is taking HCL this year, when will be the CL and HCL O level taken?


Please advise if the following correct:

May 2015 CL O Level
??? 2016 HCL O level - provided if CL O Level is at least A2. Otherwise take CL O level.

Nov 2015 CL O levels

??? 2016 HCL O level - provided if CL O Level is at least A2. Otherwise take CL O level.
Nov 2016 HCL O level. Whether can continue depends on sch, I think. DS's sch strongly advised those who scored B3 or worse at the O lvls CL to drop cos statistics show that most students with these grades won't be able to make it. Final decision they leave it to the students/parents.

Edited : the info applies to non IP students. Think for most IP students, they will take HCL O level direct in Yr 4, Nov exams. No need to do CL O level at all.

My DS is Sec 4 this year. Last yr I don't think the sch particularly focussed on CL except the intensive 2 weeks ( I think) CL O level prep course wh was conducted after SA2. Think cos HCL is of a much higher std, sch doesn't see the need to do so since it's a language afterall.

In Sec 4, if you drop HCL, then you can retake CL. If not, you can't retake CL to try for a better grade. This is what my DS told me this morning, not sure whether correct info or not. Better confirm with sch...

如果学生在中三快捷华文考得不理想, 那么学校会劝他们中四时放掉高华, 重考快捷华文。
