ok ... so just to summarise up :


1. HCL are not needed during primary school.

2. DSA do not need students to have HCL.

3. If students take HCL in PSLE, extra points are given and
VALID only in SAPs school.

4. RGS, RI, SCGS, MGS, ACSI do not stipulate having HCL.
Could it be these schools are only referring to their 4 yrs ?

5. IP students need to take HCL ? We know this as some parents reported child has to take HCL in VS cause he's in IP of 6 yrs.


Hope more could contribute so we could have a more crystallize idea between this HCL, IP and DSA.

For Point 5) It depends on which schs u DSA to ....

If u are targeting at DHS which u have mentioned....
ALL pupils in DHS do HCL...unless u cannot pass yr HCL at the end of yr 2 or even yr 3...
U' ll be auto downgrade to only doing CL at O level...
And if u do not clear yr HCL at O level, u'll required to take H1 CL at JC level....
Hence, most pupils would rather put in effort to clear their HCL at O level...instead of doing another subj, ie H1 CL in JC...

But for some IP schs, a pass alone in HCL at O level is not good enough to be exempted from doing H1 CL in yr 5, so it still depends on which IP sch....

我觉得sparks是指O Level Express Chinese Mid Year Exam 将在今天公布成绩！
如果成绩理想，年底就少考一科了，会有更多时间准备其他科目。
考不及格者，校方则会要求他们在年底选择华文B。

Yes, it was announced on the SEAB website that Olevel MT Midyr results will be released today. Think I posted in wrong thread that's why confusing.

Yes, o level results for Chinese and chinese lang b were released to dd and her classmates this am.
