my kid took it at Pri 3...not very challenging

May I know what the objective is taking HSK. How is the standard like comparing to our CL or HCL? Is it neccessary to take this exam?

no idea. one fine day my kid just brought back the cert in a brown envelop ....also don't know when they did it in school

Wah, P3! My kid took it in P5. She took HSK(基础) Proficency Test and scored almost full mark. She took it outside the school on one Saturday. The test consists of 听力理解，语法结构，阅读理解, all 140 questions. In fact she wanted to take HSK Elementary-Intermediate (初中等) but teacher said it is more for secondary students. I think some primary schools already take HSK Elementary-Intermediate (初中等) test. Sec students should be taking Elementary-Intermediate level(初中等) or Advanced level(高等).

Hmmm .. I don;t know which level but she in secondary.

A good site recommended by a parent here. They have primary, secondary and JC levels. Other subjects too, eg. Maths, Chemistry but all in Chinese.

The requirement for HCI is B4, not A2, to be exempted from taking Chinese in Year 5.

Glad to find this thread.

My dd is not coping well with her Sec 1 HMT, scoring +/-50! :shock: She used to have HMT tuition in Pri but I stopped in Sec to thinking she could cope on her own and with my coaching. Now, I'm nervous with SA2 round the corner how to help her :?: She's weak in her writing and cloze passage, compre part ok.

Hope anyone with similar experience could share how to help her improve. Any recommendation for good tuition? Or any good assessment/reference/books that can help in home study? Thanks a lot!
