I went this morning. Indeed very little baby books.

Have to mention about this - it happened in the fair. A boy, around 3-4 yr old, was coughing very badly. The mum was nearby. I was behind them, grumbling silently - not feeling well don't come la, cough until like that still come. Come fair no need so die hard la, no time to tell your son cover mouth ar... Spread happiness but don't spread germ la!

The boy was really coughing very badly, non stop for more than 5min. Then, suddenly I heard a \"urgg\" ( the vomiting noise one makes). The next thing I heard, the mum started lecturing the kid,\"aiyoh.... U cough till like that\" I was like, you mean you doono your son cough until like that?! You so busy searching for books that you cannot hear ar!?\"

I turned around, just in time to see the boy merlion into their box of books. Then the ranting (from mom) began. She raised her voice at the boy, saying ask you not to run la....\" but the thing was, I didn't see the boy run. All she was doing, beside scolding the boy, was cleaning herself and staring into the box of books and regurgitation.

Then the hubby came. The hubby equally lost, stared from wife, to son to box. I buay than, quickly gave the husband two pieces of tissue to clean the books and one piece to the poor boy to clean himself. At least the hubby showed appreciation, he said thanks. The wife? She ignored me totally like it was my fault. Haiz....Want to cheong fair, I perfectly understand. But gotta keep an eye on the kids also mah... :slapshead:

I saw the husband and boy seated at one corner busy cleaning. I hope they are civic minded enough to buy the books... :xedfingers:

                Must go!!! Must go!!!

I spent 3 hrs there today.

It's a treasure trove for those looking for fiction and non fiction novels and books for kids 3 years and above.

I saw loads of Michael Morpurgo, Geromino Stilton, Dr Suess, Enid Blyton, Judy Blume, popular and classic fiction, titles by Usborne and Disney. I also managed to get something by Richard Scarry. Just looking at the titles by Enid Blyton transported me to my childhood days when I would devour Mallory Towers, Amelia Jane etc .... So tempted to buy them, hardcover somemore!!

The condition of the books are excellent too.

The other good thing was that the staff kept unloading titles after titles of books very often. That's why I say it's a book lover's haven there.
In fact, I have to say this is by far the best book fair I have been in terms of condition and price of the books.

My main buys were kids' books, non fiction, parenting books and I finally managed to purchase my first Nigella Lawson, something which I have always shied away from cuz of the price 😄

I am just back and it’s really good buy! Yes, by far the best book fair I’ve been to and price is fabulous. Managed to get lots of kids and adult books too - just too good to miss. Good that I brought along a trolley bag and stuff all my books in!

Much as I would luv to go again, I think my hubby (and kids) may even ban me from going as I've spent nearly 3 hrs there (late and they were waiting)and lug home loads of books  But of course I would luv to hear news of MPH book fair again and find another excuse to go look see

Btw, where do you receive info of such book fair?
