      Verykiasu,

      Thanks.

I had wrote to MOM 2 days ago without replied tilldate. Had just MOM reminder.

Ok. I will wait for the letter then.

Just hope there won’t be any penalty charge.

may be you can check their web and see whether you can download the form

or email them could be faster (or your writing to them was email ?)

or call them non-stop till you get a reply from them

May i have a quick check.

My maid is due for 6-monthly medical examination. However, the letter has been misplaced. Anyone has such experience and what should i do?

Can i still bring her for medical check-up without letter?
          Hi, me again.

You can go to mom website and log on using your singpass. Can print out the same medical form from there. Very easy, nonid to wait for letter to arrive.

          Direct Link: https://wponline.mom.gov.sg/WPOLLoginController?action=WPOLLoginAction&actionType=WPOLLoginOWNBehalf

If this don't work, try to find work permit online (foreign domestic maid).

does the print out carry the maid's personal particulars ?

it will be a great help ! it should say what test the doc need to run (not every 6 months with the same test)

Yes definitely, it will be exactly like the letter that was sent to you. that's why have to log in with your singpass (our information plus maid one is inside).

one peeve I have with that website is that if I want to find out my own maid details, I need some fairly obscure information on her like wp number, date and whatever. Usually I only have 1 or the other info, not 2.

you should have those info on the WP card, which i guess you should have a printed copy and a pdf copy on computer .....

thanks for your confirmation on the MOM web print out (though i have not lost a form before)....next time know where to look

                    noobparent:
So many horror stories about maids. Quite scary.

                    Any good experiences at all?

I find that my maid is quite good.
Many horror stories about maids, but there are definitely good ones around, just not that many. I find that most maids do not come here with the right objective.

At the moment, I do not have a maid. But if I do have one again, I will have to give up the privacy and convenience which I'm enjoying now. My kids are 10 and 6. My flat isn't that spotlessly clean but what the heck.
Having a maid means I have to provide her with food and accomodation and put up with her nonsense. I'm so scared. If she doesn't give me problems (instead of solving problems), I am willing to feed and house her happily.

Thank you so much DesertWind for all the points.. yes agree I wont renew her also thinking shall I change her cause still 14 months remaining and I am working full time cannot always take leaves to look after her :?

                      Hi LKVM! 😉
Wah, very tough question leh....still got 14 months long way to go...but whether to terminate her now? Very tempting but what would be the consequences? Is she genuinely sick or skiving? Since she is less than 1 year, is it possible to get your maid agency to talk to her to find out why she is always sick? This will be an indirect way instead of you talking to her yourself? I think the main thing she must be told is that even though sick (unless fever until cannot get out of bed), she must still help \"amah\" ie. your MIL to cook, clean etc.. She is not allowed to stay inside her room and sleep during \"peak period\" ie. dinner preparation, morning cleaning etc. If she is really skiving, she must realize there are consequences ie. employer can't/won't take leave to look after her and if sick too often, her job is at stack. Just like if we are working keeping taking MC our job is also at stack! So you can't keep taking leave because of your maid right? So the consequence is the maid must know all this.

But to get a new maid is very troublesome so it is really a tough call to make whether to let her go now or not. Why not ask your MIL's opinion? Think between yourself, MIL and hubby, should be able to come to some sort of conclusion!

Well I have always told that we can do everything without her so she shouldnt feel that she is very important 😉

I told her the same sentence, \"I can do without her.\"

                        My house is more cleaner.........

                        Hi, Hi!

On the contrary, I told my maid I need her to keep the house clean and tidy and look after my son well.

If she cannot meet all these requirements, consequence is I will change maid. (This one no need to say out loud else sound so threatening to her!) 😎

Of course I NEED my maid else why bother hiring one in the first place?

Also told my maid since I am working so hard outside I do not want any trouble at home. ie. any huge trouble she can prepare for consequences already. (This one also she understands without me having to say it out explicitly to her).

                        (Very fierce hor? hee....hee... 😉 )
