Hi ! Could anyone feedback on MMi@katong? Hold back due to big class size , K1 24 student to 1 teacher n 1 assistant teacher. Is it a norm for Montessori school? For Chinese, they are using workbook from Popular . Would they be well prepare for P1?

          Hi jingzjingz,

I am looking for reviews on Brighton as well but for the branch at Sunset Way. It seems Brighton wasn't discussed much here.

So I googled and came across this blog by a mom whose child attends Brighton Montessori at Fort Road since 2010. You might want to take a look. Here is the link: http://www.tuan-min.com/blog/?tag=brighton-montessori-experience

I am looking at Tots United Montessori near Serangoon gardens (and Braddell Road) for my sons (K1) Does anyone have any feedback?

Greenbelt… Thanks for the link. Ya Brighton seems to be a highly sought after preschool but I’m curious why there isn’t much discussion over here. Still wondering if it’s really good to send my kiddo there at 18 mths.

Has anyone attended the Montessori Mathematics Workshop conducted by Nafisa J from the company “Right to Learn”? The lessons (4 sessions) are usually conducted at Lower Delta Road over 4 Sundays.

Any feedback on whether we will really be ready to teach our kids using the Montessori tools after attending the workshops? Do we still need to spend a lot of time at home to think of activities or lesson plans to teach using the tools, or the course provide instructions and manuals on how to go about using the tools to conduct the lessons?

                    Thanks in advance!

                      hi sean wife,

I just attended Montessori Maths parent workshop in February this year a few months back ago, under trainer Nafisa. There were 7 of us, different nationality, different race.

all my classmates and I were very impressed by Nafisa course instructions training material which she provided. It was so detailed and so clear, step by step. It’s a very good workshop. I strongly encourage you to sign up! She demo, and we also role play with one another in class, took photos, videotape, etc. the various topics covered. It was fun! You can learn lots of useful tips from her, how to teach your child Maths at home, the fun and lively way!

the training material Nafisa provides for the class is more than sufficient for you to kickstart teaching your child Maths at home. Only thing is that you need to buy the Tool. Without the Tool, you can’t teach. Those beads – representing units, hundreds, thousands, 10 thousands … are costly.

some of our classmates bought the entire full Maths set from Nafisa.
But some didn’t. We went internet, google, compare the prices for individual items, then purchased from a US Montessori website instead, cheaper. However, shipment costs very ex, because most Montessori Maths tools are heavy, because made of wood. In the end, one of our classmates order in bulk quantity for all of us from a Montessori website in US, then we spread out the shipment costs evenly amongst ourselves. If you need my classmate’s contact email, I can give you. You may email her, ask her which US Montessori website she ordered from.

though Montessori Maths set from China is much cheaper, we dare not buy - because the color may come off from the beads, lead poisoning.

once you acquire her training material and Maths tool, you can start training your child Maths at home, anytime !

btw, coming up in July, Nafisa is conducting another parents workshop on Montessori Maths. If you keen, you may sign up. Go for it!

below are the details, from the trainer.

                      ================================

Nafisa is good! But i haven't attend her maths workshop yet. But her grammar workshop is good. She is very detailed, so the money u paid is very worth it.

Anyway, I bought some montessori maths teaching aid from a USA website, and I ordered extra box if tens beads and single unit beads, anyone keen, can PM me .:)
