May I ask if the English composition topic specifically stated about you losing something or can it be someone else losing that something? My child did not read the guiding questions.[/quote]
My gal says the topic is : LOSING SOMETHING.

can it be someone else losing that something? - yes , because she says the topic didn't emphasise : \"I LOOSE SOMETHING\"

      Hope that helps:)

My gal said the English paper 2 was easier than most of the past year papers & top sch papers she had practiced. Feedback frm her classmates the comprehension was easy passage, vocabulary & visual text was tricky & Grammar cloze section was quite challenging.

Is good that one subject is already over and done with. Now is tomorrow Maths.
Maths need a clear mind to think through, tonight please sleep early

Yes! Hoping the best for Maths paper :xedfingers: .. it has always been my gal's most dreaded subject. 😢

if the topic is about losing something and they write about losing someone, will it be off-topic?
Yes, I believe it is off-topic.

My girl said otherwise, last year paper was easier 🤔. This year paper 2 “so-so” but Comprehension is easy.

              Topic is “something being lost”

Picture 1: handphone on a bench
Picture 2: a boy at information counter
Picture 3: a missing cat poster

As long as you write the compo about any of the pictures, you will not be off-topic correct? So if it is about a boy “got lost somewhere or place” should be appropriate.

Something is lost - can be things, loved ones etc… as long as picture is used. If picture is not used could be dicey and impact content marks. Personally I feel that this kills children’s creativity and a 12 year old child writing about losing a dear one or friendship is amazing and much deep. My son will never think out-of-the-box like that. It would be sad if the PSLE markers are going to deduct marks on content due to this. Hope they do away with the pictures altogether and just give a title and some pointers for kids to be more creative in their compos

Hi parents, would like to check something, for the booklet A vocabulary section, last question about the people leaving their food, did your children put abandoned or discarded?

my girl say the English paper was more difficult than she expected. which I think is a good thing because English is her best subject. You want the subject you are good in to be as hard as possible and the subjects that you are weak in to be easy.

dunno but it should be discarded right? if it refers to food.

Yeah. Down with three papers for my child. Hope that he will be serious enough for the rest of the paper. Anyone know during psle result date do parents need to go along to collect the result?
