SINGAPORE: The National Environment Agency (NEA) said hazy skies in Singapore are due to more hotspots in the northern South-East Asian region experiencing the traditional dry season.

\"This has led to an increased concentration of particulate matter such as dust particles in the air over the region, including Singapore,\" it said in a statement, adding that weakening winds over Singapore in the past few days have added to the current hazy situation.

The NEA said the PSI as of 4pm on Wednesday is in the good to moderate range of between 39 and 53.

The hazy condition is expected to persist over the next few days, and NEA will continue to monitor the situation.

Son and I have sensitive noses…once there is haze or irritant, we will both be sneezing continuously. Haze from Indonesian fires expected later but now from other hot spots.

Next Thur, my son has outdoor activity after school till 6pm and some running activity the next day at Jurong. He is going to knock out in fatigue.

kids will learn better in a cool environment...especially now that the weather is so humid. problem is with air con, germs spread faster.

Haze back again? Darn. I wheezing the night before last. Skipped my morning run yesterday as my chest was still kinda tight. But my wheezing was due more to the incense paper burning on the lunar 15th and cos I went to pray my granma for qingming.

Just got back from my run this morning. My nose ran faster than me, had a hard time keeping up. I stopped running liao but the nose’s stamina is better than mine, still going, no sign of stopping.

Not sure about the haze from Indonesia but Ching Ming is just around the corner. Just saw on the news that there are alot more choices of paper offerings now....3-d houses complete with interior furnishing/domestic helpers/chauffer, life-size cars, latest electronic gadgets etc. It's gonna be a tough month for you!!

                      Domestic helpers!

My DD1 and hubs have similar symptoms, Funz. :snuggles: When they have to last longer in school or work due to events lagi worse. When hubs used to ride the Honda-cup to work I found that it was almost painful to breathe. While I ask that they both wear masks, they find it inconvenient due to the frequent sneezing and runny nose. DD1's eyes will be so red and watery. If she so much as touch or worse, rub her eyes due to itchiness or irritation, the eyes will get puffed up swollen much faster.

Sigh. Time to stock up on her anti-histamines.

we all keep sneezing…cannot tahan…esp in the morning whereby i’ve to keep clearing my nose while preparing meals for lunch n dinner.

i didn’t know the smoke fr. Myammar/Laos can travel so far.Anyway, the sky in sg is not clear anymore, more construction n less forest.I really miss the old sg back in 1990s n early 2000s.
