In my opinion, what they are doing is useful to a certain extent, after all practice makes perfect, if you are exposed to IQ questions, you will get better. However they do charge very high fees, so its really up to the consumers.
Practice does make perfect. But if the goal is to get into GEP, then being \"perfect\" due to practice could place the child in a difficult position when he/she does make it to GEP.

My friend's sent her high ability child to dr peh thinking of helping him make the cut into GEP. but then the child still did not get into GEP. My friend wasted her money and yet she comfort herself, \"At lease I have done my best.\" :? This is many parents' mentally that help keep dr peh surviving.

ya la... going into gep is unlike getting into a good secondary school...if the child 'no swim' he or she will sink in the gep....

training to do better in the gep test is different from having the attitude to survive in gep.
rather than throwing so much money at him, might as well spent it on iq books and brainteasers and let the child practice. -
I am newbie

Hi CoffeeCat,
Any books to recommend? I guess GEP potentials shall enjoy doing IQ or brainteasers tests. :thankyou: -

the \"obvious\" ones are the mensa ones. I not sure if most of them has worked solutions and it will be a good workout for the parents and the kids. I not sure if there are still questions testing on analogies like word A is to B as word c is to ___. you get the idea, any books with weird reasoning questions might be useful.
for the maths
for maths best to find puzzle (numerical, mathematical) in nature. You can find this small thin book called maths quiz 3 in popular. Again you might find the maths olympiad books a bit useful.
for english...
lol this one very hard to prepare. its either the case that your english is good enough or not. Both times i took the test i don't understand what the passage was talking about. -

Hi, Vlim,
any idea how many got drowned in the end? :?: -
KSP:
Oh really? Then how come they are still surviving? Sorry, I'm not challenging but just want to find out more.
IMHO, they can survive because there is demand. Just as plastical surgery, if look can be artificially enhanced, why not brain?
