Few days ago he can count from 1 to 10. He can also sing ABC song and even recognise and say out A B C and O letter. But he still cant call us papa mama despite teaching him everyday, I couldn’t understand why is it so. Is it because he is not interested in people? Is there any way I can do to help him to talk?

Hi, curious to find out how did your son learn the ABC song and how did he start recognizing the letters? If u can figure that out maybe u can use the same techniqeu to teach him papa mama? My husband and I realized early on that our son is better with reading than with images.. so we printed out lots of words. I even bought a laminating machine so I can make flashcards. The traditional method of using picture association didn't work well for my son. Have to experiment and find a method that works..

I must say Autism Step has helped us in so many ways. Therapy V has improved my son a lot. They are really good!! I would definitely recommend them!

Your story is so encouraging and I totally agree with you! Our children just need our guidance 🙂 I do the same for my son, he was also diagnosed with autism and husband and I decided to send him to regular kindergarten and EIPIC. And like all kiasuparents, we started him on sports classes and recently piano lessons. Even though he is autistic, his life should not just be therapy after therapy after therapy.. There has to be some positive fun, and so we enrolled him for enrichment classes 🙂 Some may say that any extra time should be spent on therapy.. but I think guiding my son towards sports and music helps to build a more wholesome and enriching life
Hi sandraisies, I am looking for a piano teacher for my 7 yr old boy. He has high functioning ASD... Can you PM me your teacher's contact? Do u see positive results?

We are very thankful for case manager Marilyn from Autism STEP for helping my son improve over the past year. His teachers has good feedback on his improvement in attention span and speech, he used to speak in single words and now he has started to build full sentences. We are very encouraged!

Are there any parents out there with their child having a "suspected ASD" as KKH tells me, Who is attending EIPIC THK at TAMPINES? If so, Are they good? Im lost… I dont know where to put my child. She is 27 months. SHe is currently attending a PAP Toddler playgroup near my house, Hoping that this will help for her social interaction skills while waiting for EIPIC center. As you or some of you know, These government subsidized centers have a very long waiting list. I was wondering if by just waiting, that we are losing important time for EARLY INTERVENTION. After awhile of pondering, while im still at the confuse state, i was thinking of putting her at ZEE Juniors. But the problem is…I could only afford their PPIP Program and not the Mainstream(Childcare which is around $1200++). On top of that the therapy fees (taking the most expensive program they have at 1555) , after subsidy will be 356SGD. And that will be a total of$1500++ every month… The thing about ZEE is that if your child goes for therapy and childcare there, The teachers who knew your child well will be able to bridge the therapy uses and tools and integrate it in MAINSTREAM. On the other hand, if you go to EIPIC THK, you will have to bridge all the therapy tools and techniques to their PAP childcare teacher…

I dont have problems with that, but sometimes, i worry that im not good enough to do this bridging or to apply all the techniques at home all by myself… What if i do wrong…What me and my child lose essential time to get the proper help? To all parents out there… Pleas help me. I have no prior knowledge or experience in this "SUSPECTED ASD or ASD even… please help
