Anyone can use any pics for their avatars (except those with your nicks on them, of course).. Before i started using those customised avatars done by ksi, I was using a ''yellow flowers'' avatar, which at least 3 forumers were using it at the same time..

Lilac did not think it was big deal.. Anyway, Lilac's avatar has her nick on it, whereas 25hr-mama's avatar does not have one..

Actually as regular forumers, u would hv seen others using similar ones and i think lilac66 is a regular forumer (i see her posts in many threads). N it seems like lilac66 change her avatar after seeing others using it. Everyone wants to be distinctive in his/her identity, i dun think anyone will want others to use the same avatar as themself. Even with different names on it.

The 2nd person who uses it should hv the courtesy to change if she realise it. Maybe if highlight to 25hr mama, she will gladly change it too.

I agree no one can chk who had used the same avatar before but as least current avatar can be seen in every post by the same user.

Maybe vkm is just curious what can be done to prevent.

Just my thoughts.

Vksm, Do you think it is even possible for us to check that no one is using a particular avatar, before we use it? If you think it is possible, maybe you can suggest on how we can do so.. N u were probably in fame because whatever u suggested got implemented very fast and that will arouse other users who could hv suggested things but didnt get to be implemented. (was there a reward for offerring suggestions and got adopted?)

I can see that u r helpful in offerring others avatar and i like the avatar u made of koala bear.

Off topic, can u pm me how u google and learn how to design avatars?

Actually, why should the second person change it just because the image has already been used by someone else? The second person may like the image as much as the first person.

Erm... it's a small problem to me. But I decided to change mine anyway coz other than the distinct identity part, abit of a confusion may arise if we were to meet in the same thread .


I remember daisyt and poppy15 , the avatars are not exactly the same, but they are quite similar. I was scratching my head when I read their posts in one thread.(until I realise they have diff nicks) Most people will not pay too much attention to the nick if there's an avatar.
Even though mine is customised with my nick on it, qms was taken in by the 25hrmama one also.

Maybe u can try asking friends who frequent other columns.
Not about being fair or not. This is the same like first come first serve.

i think i may just have the same response as u, to change my avatar instead... its not like in fb where u post ur photo to represent u... in a public forum, u use all the free avatar that can be downloaded free... so if someone else is also using it, it is just purely coincidental...
