Can I give the Hockhua UMF10+ to a 6yo kid? How much to give?

He's been coughing for 3 months, very phlegmy and has runny nose. Took so many bottles of cough medicine including one course of antibiotics. Now on ventolin and allergy medication. Was thinking of stopping the western medicines and just give manuka honey.

I also tried verykiasu's pear soup with chuanbei but it seems to make him cough even more... maybe too cooling?
My P3 boy also on & off coughing. Not phlegmy anymore, no running nose too. Also on ventolin & singular. Shld I continue the honey treatment now that there is almost no phlegm?

The pear soup with chuanbei is supposed to be cooling? The TCM I went to said increase coughing after his medication is supposed to cough out the loosen phlegm. Once there is less phlegm, the coughing will go off. Did your boy feel the phlegm is looser?

OIC…the chuanbei pear soup is supposed to make him cough more? I stopped the chuanbei pear soup coz he didn’t like it but now combining Manuka Honey with Guaifenesin syrup to loosen phlegm. I also give him chuanbei powder dissolved in water.

We're actually on our 3rd bottle

Family came down with cough and sore throat 2 weeks back and we've been drinking manuka honey water morning and night. Really helps to soothe the throat and helps to reduce coughing too. Finished almost 2 bottles during that period for 4 of us.

I usually buy the brand Comvita brand from Unity. Quite happy with the efficacy of the product so far. But I guess any other brand is ok too if it's manufactured in NZ.

I just bought from Nature Farm. 4 bottles of 250g UMF 10 at $66.00.

You can also try John Little 500g UMF 10 at $42.80 (before discount). But I usually buy during 20% discount.
