I accidentally used a metal spoon to scoop the manuka honey. Does it mean that the whole bottle of honey will lose its effective?

            Thanks for advice.

Actually it is ok to use metal spoon. The reason is after the bee keepers return to the factory to process the honey, they will use a hot metal knife to slice one side of the honey comb open. And they will place them in a metal drum to spin the honey out from it (image a bigger version of washing machine during spinning dry). After that they will put it thru for filtering (with a metal base) and heating then store in food grade metal drums (those you see in trucks on the high way) before they are packed into plastic bottles for retail. All the processing steps involves coming into contact with metal. Therefore if metal can damage the quality of the honey then it should have been damaged at the very beginning. So i dont think metal can really damage the quality of honey. I feel it is just a myth. Anyway, they have to use metal along the entire processing process so that they can be certified by authorities to process food grade products. Hope this info helps.

I been faithfully giving my kids manuka honey for at least 2 mths. Think it does help in my kids' health. Expensive but worth it! :rahrah:

                    Hi all

After reading this thread I am keen in getting Manuka Honey for my children aged 10 and 7 to boost their immune system. Please advise which one should I get?

                    TIA

My trusted brand is Honey World & Honey Farm. Abit on d pricey side, but worth it.

                        Hi Pink Piglet

I bought mine from Hock Hua UMF10 for my kids. But there are also many others you can check out - Guardian, GNC, Nature Farm, Holland & Barrett etc.
