Suitability is v vague.. is there a score that they look at before they consider which offer? I heard they also look at the current scores-the closer to their tscore, the better chances of CO..my DS is in CHS year1 this year and there's 9 classes in year1 (I didn't check how many for the other levels)1J2Ms\" post_id=\"1985718\" time=\"1594716609\" user_id=\"179190:
Hmm u all mention about the bare minimum of 200 or 188.. but I see in many popular schs, they state requirements as ‘should have good/ excellent results in p5-6’ etc etc.. that implies they look for domain talent as well as academics right?
Does CHS consider also close to their tscore for the domains applied to?
Which has higher priority-Ranking/ expertise in domain or academics? I heard for sports, they usually offer O level track rather than IP. Anyone heard of DSA sports domain being offered IP before? If so, what is the estimate tscore they will look at before they offer that stream?
there's 5 class IP and 4 classes OP.
They are all placed according to their strength, eg. he is in the class with all strong in Mathematics and Science. There's another class strong in languages (bilingualism), leadership, etc
I did heard my son told me about few boys he know were DSA in via Sports (have both in OP and IP). So I guess the school assess the kids on their academic ability too.
Hope this info is helpful.
but i was thinking.. then this group of boys who r talented will also DSA to RI.. especially since scores r good enough.. how they handle the rejection of CHS CO if the boys all flock to RI if they all happen to get CO from there too...
Yes they do offer to IP path in CHS.
I do not know what criteria they look at but i'm sure they do look at their primary school results too.
For last year, the process was different due to this year we are all hit by COVID19, and all are done via e-interview.
Last year they were all assessed by their test (for Math, they were given text to do. According to my son, it was like Sec2/3 question). A passage to read about social problems and how they handle etc etc, plus the interview by the panel of interviewers.
I really do not know how they assess the boys on the offer.
